The discoloration is normal for the tri-flanges. It won't go away altogether but I wash mine with just some soap and water.

Which is why I still use them for portables. I still love the comfort and especially that beautiful shape of it. Its just that now whenever I listen to them, a tape loop starts playing at the back of my head going, where's the treble, where's the treble... I'm even starting to enjoy my ksc75 more and more inspite of the lack of resolution cuz the highs are just so sweet. ANd the k81djs... best of both worlds.

What a waste. They could have used it better instead of taking it apart. Giving it to me would be a good way to start...

Compared to other brands, the cord design reduces a lot of microphonics. One way to understand this is trying the old ety cable vs the new braided design. Then you'll get some idea.

The 1st time I used UM1, I could hear my every footstep, plus any noises are magnified when I adjust the cable. Now, the noises are still there, but I've already subconciously tuned them out so I don't really notice them anymore.

The volume stays the same. You'll just hear any external banging noises in your ear a lot louder.

U mean the nylon strands seperating right? No exposed metal bits? Same with mine. I just twist the cable to bring the strands close together again. I think it's cuz of normal usage twisting the cable. Nothing to worry about.

Like the topic sez . My pads are getting icky after all those gym sessions and I think its a good idea to get some replacements. While I'm at it, any other pads that will fit the ksc75 too? Just to improve on SQ or comfort? Where to buy these pads n how much? Also wanna try recabling my headphones. Hung bros in slt sell ready made ones or have to get parts from scratch?

Trying not to be too picky now and just enjoy my purchase. Anyway, I used them for my gym sessions and they are so much better than the freebie gym ones. Stays on well when jogging too, and open back means I can hear people around me. They won't replace my other cans but for what I bought them for (price and purpose), I have no regrets.

Done the kramer mod, 4 holes in the outer ring, 4 in the middle ring. However I left the center untouched cuz scared too bright. Listened to some Aphex Twin last night after modding, forgot which track but the highs seem to go on forever! I think enough to kill mosquitoes with it. After that I think better not touch the center hole else the music skewer my eardrum... Dunno what the fuss is on headfi though, seperation not so good and blurry light bass. These are very very bright cans.

How did you guys get the plastic out? I tried popping it out using kramer's method but no matter I push out or push down the thing just won't move. I'm scratching up the plastic pretty badly tho...

Just got mine today! Dunno which mod to do, scared the treble becomes too strong. Quite comfy for me, but coming from my k81, seems like bass very light will kramer mod the outer ring part increase the bass? Hmmm...

The nozzle looks like Philips SHE9500 one. Pretty nice design there...

I can attest to that too. My girlfriend gets really pissed off when I'm listening to them and I can only see her lips moving when she's standing right in front of me and talking.
