  1. That is correct....but the cash rolling thingy will always be a major problem. Just did a check on my $$ spent on audio stuff and the result is.....: Anyway i guess its better to wait for some opinions of the new triple fi. 10 before i pull the dangerous trigger Thanks and best regards!!
  2. Jaben has both the Fubar II and the Juli@, you can head down there to give it a spin.
  3. They look pretty cute. Like what the box says "We grow old because we stop playing" Guess there's always a kid in all of us, so start playing!!
  4. Nils -- Pacific Coast Highway Joe Satriani -- Super Colossal
  5. Hmmm....never knew the custom moulds would be possible (due to the shape of the drivers) until i saw this thread in head-fi. Pretty neat IMO, the whole driver is casted inside the mould. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=165408 Wonder if Jaben can do this?
  6. Hey man its not lousy, just that it needs to be a tad more specific. Different people can interpret the questions in like a million ways. Thanks for creating the poll Cheers
  7. Not sure if this is gonna make people have 2nd thoughts about "burning in" cables. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=198552 kinda interesting. Cheers
  8. i don't think the poll would be fair if we can vote twice right? Maybe should phrase it like "if you are to choose only one, which will that be?" Just my 2 cents. Cheers
  9. Diana Krall -- From This Moment On (what a voice )
  10. Ar yes...PINK FLOYD, and i've become comfortably numb.......... I tried Dark Side of The Moon, its sounded quite dark and haunting...eerie to a certain extend IMO, a very unique way of presenting their music though. Guess its time to get The Wall. Classic Rock kick a** man!! Just felt that modern rock is losing its appeal, unlike the good old virtuoso playing of past legends. Alter Bridge is an exception ba.
  11. Hello, Correct me if i'm wrong but i believed Page heroin addiction started like after the mid 70s?? I strongly agree that his addiction to heorin and booze really affected his playing during the later years. He wasn't very sober during their Live Aid performance in 1985 But nervertheless....give them props for their contribution dude. Cheers
  12. Hope this helps, you can try digging up more of these related topics. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=5676 http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=5611 Cheers
  13. As the saying goes..."different folks, different strokes" The best is to bring your sources and cans down there sit back, enjoy the great hospitability of Wilson and give those amps a test. I've been using the Cute Beyond and the Fubar II and is loving every minute of the music that i'm listening to. Saw the Little Country yesterday but did not have the time to give it a try (The day will come very soon though). Size wise, the Little Country is the size of 2 Cute Beyonds stacked up together. What can i say? COMPACT! Firestone Audio really knows how to make their products industrial-like but yet blend in some cuteness in them. Price wise the Little Country is of course gonna cost more than the Cute Beyond. But like what scanfiend said, prices offered by Wilson will be competitive and friendly. Hope you enjoy audition. Cheers!
  14. Well said The early 70s is the time where Jimmy Page felt that Led Zeppelin were at their artistic and musical peak. Many concert attendence records were smashed during their tours and that itself speak volumes. (OT a bit, their double DVD set which shows their concert performance rocks man!!)
  15. You can try their fourth album, (it has no title but is often called Led Zeppelin IV). Its their best selling album....try "Black Dog", "Rock and Roll" and of course "Stairway to Heaven" Other than the above, "Whole Lotta Love" and "Immigrant Song" should fit the bill for hard rock.
  16. hmmm...on second thoughts, i wonder how the ipod video will look like if Apple issue them in lets say 2 or 3 different colours other than the black and white or the minis solid colours. Maybe Gunmetal, Plasma or Faded Olive. (colours with more than one tone) Too many colours will be an overkill though. Just a wild thought. lol

Lippon tea bags minus off the tea leaves should do the trick.
  18. Well IMHO, i'm not entirely impressed by the new series of players. By copying the colors and presentation of the mini, the nano has kinda lost its uniqueness that has made it such a hit. Its like taking 2 steps forward and one step back, u know what i mean? I just feel that legacy of the ipod mini should be left alone and Apple should think out of the box to improve the design of the nano rather than sticking to the mentality of "don't re-invent the wheel". The 2nd Gen shuffel IMO is more eye-catching as it was a major make over as compared to the 1st Gen. As a consumer, i would want a product to be beyond my expectation while meeting it is the bare minimum. (I know people would say "C'mon there's already nothing much to improve on" but keep in mind they are a USD8 billion company.) And a 8Gb Nano costing the same as a 30Gb ipod video for $249? If i'm not wrong, prices of flash memory chips are getting much cheaper thus, the Nano is overpriced. Also, for me i would rather choose the larger disk space of the video than over compact size of the Nano. The ipod video on the other hand is regarded as a 5.5 Gen rather than a 6 Gen. Like what dryspell said the 6 Gen is having some tech difficulties and may not see the light till 1st Qtr 2007. I guess its pure marketing gimmicks to pacify and whet the appetite of buyers. I would rather wait for the 6 Gen man I hoped i don't offend any ipod fans out there but this is how i see it. I've always been a fan of the ipod but for this time round,i'm kinda disappointed. Pls don't flame me. Anyway i'm gunning for the 6 Gen!! Need more disk space!! Cheers
  19. What can i say? I share the same sentiments. Great song!! Her new album is out anyway, saw it at HMV Anyway back to topic...... Currently listening to Metallica's "Black Album" and Muse's "Blackholes & Revelations" Cheers
  20. Yup, i also really like the fact that both the Fubar and Cute Beyond are really compact and given the limited desk space that i have, they are awesome. (well i gotta admit that my desk is rather messy most of the time...sigh.) Well in my mind, i did consider buying a full size CDP like the marantz CD5001 after reading all the glowing reviews on the net and this forumn. But, my heart is telling me to consider a tube amp at the end of the year. Wonder should i give the Little Country, MF X-Can 3 or the LD2+ a try, u know wat i mean managed to get a lot of reviews of the X-Can and LD2+ but cant really find much on the Little Country though.

    iGrado

It's really not that eye catching and was grilled pretty big time by the people in head-fi lol. This is one venture gone wrong by grado IMO. Guess not everything is ipod friendly
  22. saw a gentleman with shures (looks like e4c) while on the way home from work. time: 8 plus mgr: alighting at bedok mrt station
  23. well, i do believe that nowadays manufacturers will focus both on the aesthetics and the quality of the product that they are selling. Though they all look the same to me at the moment. is it true that copper really gives a warmer sound like what Newbie123 said? i'm like listening to 70% rock, 25% smooth jazz and 5% classical at the moment. I know bright is the way to go for rock but that's fatiguing in the long run man lol. if i'm ever buying i hope to keep the budget below 30 bucks? to Loop: yup, my cans are using the stock cables.
  24. Arh i see....many thanks for the inputs guys! That was fast. Where is a good place to hunt for such cables? you know,Canare..Neutrik etc. Hows the price range like? I think the shorter the cable the better right as the electrical signals travel less? Not sure if i should give it a try as i'm using the Fubar II (stock cables)-->Cute Beyond-->HD600. i'm pretty satisfied with the sound i must say and hope that i don't have to upgrade for some time But tweaking a bit here and there seems interesting. btw Whats LHS? (pardon me for my ignorance)
  25. Hello, I'm curious on how much interconnects can contribute to the sound quality of your equipment? (mini-to-mini, RCA cables, Cans cables...etc.) Do most people emphasize on interconnects once their setup are completed? Just curious because it seems like most people pay more attention to their cans and amps instead? Cheers!
