KSC35, no need to say much, I bought it a bit more than half a year, seldom use, the foam pad is brand new because I replaced it with a new pad with a hole cut at the centre Come with the original Koss artifical leather carring case--------ask for S$50 (some guy on head-fi said people bid it for US$100 on ebay, I don't know) HD525, my first pair of real headphone, now since I have K501 and W1000, I'll just let it go for S$75, I bought it for S$180. KPM810 noise cancelling phone from Kenwood, came with the Kenwood pcdp 851, foldable, easy to handle, fun to play, don't know the original price, almost never used, ask for S$40. I took K501 over it years ago, although it has a bigger and deeper bass, but compare to 501, they failed to draw me into the music, there is something missing, maybe rythem? But for the price, it's quite OK, I like the idea of headphone stand, AT should make a stand for their W series

E888 is not a excuse for a big money spending, BTW, I got quite some phones to play with right now. Actually, I miss my ex70 quite a lot for it's comfort and noise blocking nature, maybe can get a px200 if somebody interested to take over my ksc35 for a good price, I use 11se driven mx500 in the office and k501 and w1000 at home, ksc35 almost not in use and maybe a close phone for MRT travel is a good idea. Tried the px200 once, sounds quite nice, but looks stupid on my head

Poor man Is this the sony's tradition? My 888 got same problem after half year of use, it has been lying in my drawer for almost one year already, just too lazy to send for service, and I don't think earbuds got warranty.

N@Z, I bought the cyrus7 for S$999 few month ago just before cyrus8 came out, using it with dynaudio 42, sounds nice. But my cd player is not up to the same standard which is a Harman Kardon HD7625, an old player I bought very cheap last year when they clear stock, it was 600+ pound at it's own time 6 to 7 years ago. I'm considering change it later. The W1000 keep changing while running in, last night it sound harsh and nervous after whole day of running in, I remember my W100 has same kind of period, after that, every thing become settle down. Now it playing radio at home, I'll see how tonight.

N@Z, when I said "as good as er4p", I meant it, because er4p really shocked me on the detail department, all the other phones at that time can't compare (W100, K501, HD525, no need to mention small ones), and W1000 is as good (if not better), for example "sister drum xrcd" track 3 and 6, there are some very low level backgroun twittering other phones can here but not so clear. Rameish, I did use Naim to try each one of them. Yes, that is the price tag I paied for it. Yesterday, I did listen the chesky with W1000, but since I don't have better phone to compare, I think it will be hard to understand an even better separation , any way, I will try it tonight and pay more attention to the separation. I use Creek 11se and headphone jack of Cyrus 7 to drive my phones.

Hey guys, I got my W1000 already! Friday night, at Hung brother, they got one studio type headphone amp which got 3 output with individual volumn control, so it very easy to tell the difference of W1000, DT880 and HD600. They also have the Naim headphone amp sound much better than the studio one. I pick up the W1000 because--- 1) DT880 is not my cup of tea, it just too bright for me, I can't pay attention to rest part of the music. I did try to figure out why people like it, I think it's maybe the stage and the bass, I'm not sure, because the brightness kept me from listen properly. 2) HD 600 is good, very natural sound, but there is a curtain between you and the music, you will not notice it untill you transfer to W1000, the curtain was gone and the naturalness is still there. W1000 has all the good nature of HD600 with more open sound, some guy said the W1000 is a big leap to the AT design, sound more like a european design rather than japan, I agree. People take out the foam outside the driver and change the cable to make 600 sound open, I get all with W1000. 3) The bass of the W1000 is superb, K501 is tight but dry with no extension; W100 got the body but also not so deep and detail; HD600's famouse hump sounds not bad but you loose a bit resolusion... But with the W1000, that kind of tight deep full and detailed bass, is the best I ever heard, it just amazing! 4) This is a very detailed phone, I would say as good as er4p, you hear all staffs you never noticed before, but detail is not equal to bright treble and clinical sound here, it just shows every thing there for you enjoy, never get in the way of music. So you all should know by now, I love this baby! It has been burned in for 20+ hours already. Cheers

I tried with MX500 alreay. 500 sounds better with my creek 11se, and with the volumn control slice down, jack up the volumn of the 11se, the sound is more firm.

How to add an impedance to the cable, so it become something like a 4p->4s cable? I heard it also improve the sound of ksc35? What kind of impedance should be use?

I know X10D is a tube buffer. Dose it improve the sound?

The man who bought my W100 is a volunteer doing life saving or something like that, and he himself is kind of disabled person, so he used to be very stressed and need music to sooth him down. I have to sell him the phone with the 2002 leather pad which I intend to use with my new W1000, you can't ask too much when the chance comes, right? He knew nothing about headphones, when I told him with headphone you hear more details than with speakers, he was kind of surprise. I introduced him to head-fi an headwize, sorry I can't remember the address of here, so have to give him later. My friends all very surprised about my selling things so fast, and these (er4p and w100) are the first time I sell my stuffs.

Ablaze, other new can they have as I know is DT880, maybe I can do a rough compare and pick the one I like more . They don't have A1000 yet.

I know their boss because I bought quite some stuff from them, and since read all those talkings about W1000 at head-fi, I always ask him when is W1000 coming to singapore while I wandering aroud SLS. So, when it comes, he just called me, then it all happens, and guess what, I met Ryan there while I was auditing, he also took a brief listening, hohoho Ablaze, the link you ask me to post the price to can't open, I was told by my friend you shouldn't post price on the web, but I think it's ok. The price they mark their is about S$660, but as we all know we can bargain at Hung Brothers, so I think I can get it for about 600+ this week end? According to the boss, I was the first one listening the W1000 in Singapore and they do have stock. Cheers

Went to Hung Brother and took a listen of the new AT W1000, compared with my own W100, driven by my Creek 11SE(version B ), it sound better right out of box than my W100 which has been used for more than half a year. So I was thinking to sell the W100 and buy the 1000, the funny part is when I went to Adelfi to meet my hifi friends after the audition, we talked about headphone at Electrid shop, one guy complained about going back home too late can't listen to music and those cheapo phones he tried makes him uncomfortable, I let him try mine, he was amazed by the sound and the comfort, he like it very much and just bought it from me! So I'm ready for the W1000! Here are my impression of this W1000: The most part people complain about W100 is it's bass too fat and loose, W1000 has a tighter bass which is a big improvement; Another thing about W100 is it's sound stage, W1000 has a more natural sound stage, wider than W100; W1000 also has much less 'cupped hand effect' people consider a fault of W100 although it is ok for me; Mid range is about the same with a bit more transparency; Highs are better also, I never thought W100 been grainy untill I AB with W1000. The sound is not so open yet, but I think with a proper run in, this won't be a problem at all. W100 is a bit louder than W1000 out of the Creek. Cheers

I have sony 888, 70; mx500; ksc35. 888 died within one year, right chanel sound softer, cause centre image shift left side. So I'm worried about the durability. sound wise, compair to mx 500, bass is tighter but not as strong, mid is a bit thinner and a bit more high extension. Consider the price and durability, not recommend. EX70, died after 3 years heavy use, quite OK. you need to mod to get the best sound, otherwise it sound too bassy and bommy. Good for outside listening, it's comfort and the isolation is good. mx500: Good value for money, balanced sound, very good mid. Without amp sound is about the same calss as 888 with pro. and con. of themself, with the amp, it's better than 888, highly recommend. ksc 35: sound like a big phone, big sound stage, stong bass (too strong sometimes). I use mx500 more because mid is soo good on it. Hope this helps.

It's nice to know you like it. I think my ear hole is too big to get a proper seal, I have to stick them very deep and hard.
