  1. Ablaze, I tried add reply but there wasn't any option for me to add a pic
  2. N@Z, if it's really just D66L that Gouki found, I guess you better keep away from them.
  3. The abbreviations at the end actually helps to differentiate the models. To my knowledge, SL -> short length cord 0.5m, can be coupled to the remote of a portable device without having too long a chord. The other would be LP, where the chords are usually much longer. However, I did not know of any Sony models that's just D66L, unless it's a fake.
  4. N@Z, you'd better heal your wallet first after that hefty Apple purchase. Don't think I will have a chance to get the W2002 but I think the W1000 may be in range for me Would the AKG K501 be similar to the W1000, as I do know that the K501 work wonder for classical and jazz but fizzle out on pop and rock. Would the W1000 be adequate to fill my head with wonderful pop and rock, or should I look for something else?
  5. The technicans I have seen so far (no offense, mates) are exactly like what I described it to be. When fault occurs, they would just change anything they want, so long as they think the problem is fixed, only for me to find out the next day that the tester is all screwed up by them.
  6. Technican's job as described below (trust me, I work in an electronic firm): Main Objective Find fault -> fix fault -> check equipment is working fine -> return to customers Actual Case Cannot find fault -> Change parts -> Cannot work -> try another part -> cannot work -> try another part -> finally can work -> (in ablaze's case) fix one side might as well fix the other -> check equipment is working fine (as long as both side got sound can already -> return to customer and come up with some "smoky" answers as to why the fault happens -> Smoke screen only work for the average Joe
  7. Congrats ablaze, very fast service as well. Congrats !!! Enjoy
  8. *Cough Cough*, er which AMP are you referring to?
  9. All the best !!! hope you can get the HP890 off your inventory soon and welcome back the CD3000
  10. Again, we see ablaze, founder of this wonderful website, selling away the H890 after just ... ONE DAY ... that's a record, I guess. It will be interesting to see what he changes next : Item coming : New AMP Item changing soon : CD3K ? (You will never know) Keep in check for the saga continues ...
  11. Wa lau, forget it then, have to look for others then. Just saw another "old" site with mainly Grado and Senn reviews, for the benefit of those who have not seen it: http://www.goodcans.com/HeadphoneReviews/
  12. Just based on rating alone, the site seem to provoke me to get the W2002 instead, it's discontinued, right?
  13. By the way, the site you have shown me is very informative ... nice find !!!!
  14. Just joking lah, but never try so never know the sound of your CD3K
  15. Ablaze, there you go again, CD3K, know the price difference between the two ?
  16. Looks like I have to get the W1000 in Japan then. Hope I can find it.
  17. So beware if anyone who visits Hong Kong next time (preferably not in the near future due to SARS), if you do come across a steal in cans' prices, remember there are fake ones lurking around
  18. Yup, for that price I would definitely go for the W1000 or CD3K, I do remember that the previous price was $400+, before the Euros went up.
  19. Just read the Sunday Chinese papers today and it is about the Beyerdynamics DT880. The article mentioned about the brief history of Beyerdynamics and then went on to a brief review of the cans. Highlights (as stated in the article) 1. Eugen Beyer is the inventor of dynamic headphones, first introduced as a prototype of DT48 in 18th August 1937. 2. It was first branded as Berlin. 3. Introduced the first stereo headphone DT48S in the world in 1950. 4. DT880 was first introduced in 1980 with its frequency response stretched right up to 50kHz.. 5. 90% of the DT880 headphone itself is handcrafted, therefore production is limited -> expensive lah! 6. Quoted price is S$599 from Peak Fusion Pte Ltd. Now that's what I called historic !!!
  20. If you are talking about the figures, sure thing, but I have to upload to my Singnet webpage first ... me not very good with this ...
  21. The last time D66SL was available at any local shop that I know of (about 2-3 years back), the price was close to $160 so I would really want to advise Gouki that he had better made sure that he see the right Sony D66SL. BTW, I read an article from this HK website that talk about fake Sony streetstyle headphones (in Chinese, sorry) http://www.51digi.com/digitalwalkman/buy/0...635/article.asp Spot the fake one ....
  22. nay, japanese anime figure as well as japanese girl figures ...
  23. Yeah, the week after next, 11th April. Hope I can catch the cherry blossoms as well...
