U'll need to do a side by side comparison to answer your own qns. I own the MS-1, what I can say are these cans are very good for general purpose listening and more tuned towards rock. SR80 on other hand, from what I read is that its rather more aggresive and in your face. Pple peg MS-1 as a more neutral sounding can vis-a-vis a SR125... If you do get the MS-1s....go for the flat pads or mod your own.

Thinking about MS-2i yet?

I just got the iBasso P1 to use with my MS-1... a good improvement... This is a very decent amp...neutral sound that adds body and much more clearly defined bass notes to the sound... plus that sweet IC that comes with it.

Brand new and unopened. Looking for $30 for this pair of phones. Sold as is since I've never used it before. *Withdrawn...Keeping these phones*

Source may be one of the issue. However, U may need to burn in ur MS-2s for some time as well.

Got my MS1 yesterday... A fun pair of phones.. pretty suitable for pple who listens rock or bassheads. Doesn't really need an amp to drive it, as its only 32 ohms. But might improve it somewhat if amped. Won't know till next week, when my new amp arrives. The Beyer DTX900 is also an interesting pair of phones too, gives a more detailed sound instead of the thump thump thump in MS1... except the design looks abit..... for lack of a better word, cheap.

Err...depending where you buy from... Check with the seller...I know shops like Jaben will replace them, no questions asked. Even then, do U have the time to go back (which might be often) to replace a possibly defective pair? I'm not very encouraged by the design and build quality.

The OVCs also got serious QC issues..think quite a number of pple had one side died on them within 1 week...*me included*. TSk....
