I've heard that the playstation SCPH-100X can serve as an excellent cd player. Is it really that good?

I think I am just going to save up some more cash and buy a little dot micro tube instead of a portable amp. Btw, how easy is it replacing tubes?
-
Doesn't that degrade the sound a bit?

SRS WOW Effects (Window Media Player)
Alejandro de Los Robles replied to zonalblitz_audio's topic in PC Audio
I have the hardware version of the srs wow. It sounds better than the software in terms of quality and you can use it with other things other than your pc but its no good for just listening to music. It is really nice though when you are gaming or watching movies. -
109? sr60s should only cost like 70usd.

I'm trying to find a portable amp around 50usd or less. I'm low on cash so I need something simple and inexpensive but with reasonable sonic qualities. I'm aiming to use them with my grado sr 80s. Any suggestions?
