  1. in the new sony X1000 player out? can have launch specials?
  2. I got it for $225 from Jaben as I can audition a lot of headphones.
  3. guys I am looking to get a pair of AD700. Is the price so expensive in singapore? I tried calling stereo but they don't quote price over the phone. Amazon is selling for USD95 for the AD700. If I cannot get it under $200 in singapore brand new then I probably ship from Amazon.
  4. ask my wife to bring it back to stereo elec and they gave me 1 to 1 exchange.
  5. ok, like that maybe I stick with westone. But luckily mine still under warranty so not too much problem
  6. I am kind of curious, which brand is more durable? I bought my first IEM last year sep, westone UM2, and one of the earpiece went dead. I don't really abuse it and always carry it in the semi-hard case provided. Is Shure a more durable brand? The UM2 has really skinny wires and I am not sure if their connections are strong enough.
  7. an update. I just bought a ipod nano 4gb... After testing with so many DAPs I have come to the conclusion that the nano is the best fit for me in terms of hiss and portability. Yes, the nano still hiss but it is significantly less than the zen and is bearable to me. The zen is loud enough to distract you during the quiet portion of the recording but the nano is not noticeable unless you are listening for the hiss. Another thing about the nano is that there is line out in case I want to get a tomahawk or something. BUT the problem with the nano is that it crackles VERY LOUDLY during powerup... and sometimes during plugging in of headphones. VERY BAD for the ears. nothing is perfect...
  8. I have tested all the mp3 audio source I have with the Um2 and here are my results in the order of highest hiss. 1) nokia N95. Real loud 2) epson P3000. almost as loud as N95 3) creative zen significant softer 4) sony u8g. TOTALLY silent. wow I am really surprised by my sony.
  9. If I am willing to change the MP3 player, which one will you suggest?
  10. I got the shure volume attenuator and it removed the hissing all right but on critical listening, I found that it totally changed the sound of my UM2. The highs are visibly much softer and more muffled And inside the package Shure says that it is only for airplane use only. $25.... did any test this A/B with and without? or is it my psychological effect
  11. I can't hear the hiss with my grado SR80 and my B&O earphones. The thing with my IEM UM2, is that it seems to be VERY SENSITIVE. Basically I have set only half the volume or less with the UM2 compared to my other headphones. I tested the UM2 on my N95 and the hiss on my N95 is MUCH HIGHER. The creative zen is so much better in compariso. someone recommended me to get a level attenuator.... where to buy huh? portable or not... Did anyone did a review on which player has the smallest hiss/noise?
  12. hi guys, I just got a the new creative zen and with my UM2 I can hear a soft hissing sound when I start playing something. very obvious when I pause the playback. Is this normal for all audio players or can I find a better one with no hissing?
  13. someone suggested beyer DT990. Is that good? Any good shops to get my headphones? My budget is around $300-$400... Hopefully. Can go upwards but prefer not to. What I want is music coming from the front inside of stuck in my head..... my source is MP3 running from a nokia N95 The headroom amps are very expensive huh, seems to be upwards of $1k.
  14. Hi People, Is it possible to get front soundstage via Headphones? I have a pair of Grado SR80 and am thinking of getting a dolby headphone decoder or something to get a front sound stage. I find the in your head music is quite tiring listening for long periods. Is there any product out there that can accomplish this? My source is my MP3 player thanks in advance
