Yes, they come with wheels...easy to push around...and can also put desiccant in the container to keep the LPs dry. Think the one I got was a generic brand...did not notice, threw the label away already...anyway got it from a bookstore near my place; think there are many kinds out there, just find one that is suitable size. One thing to look out for when buying this...noticed not all has flat bottom, so best to look out for one with flat bottom.
  2. And you got it at a really good price too!

Ran out of storage... ...thought this would be better at storing LPs than the magazine rack...

Ha, ha...was surprised at some of the treasures that I picked up during my school days without really knowing the difference in which countries they were made, thirty years ago (...it has been that long...). Many Tangerine Dream and Mike Oldfield albums too...all either Japan, German, or US pressed... Had to clean many of them due to some mould and fungus...but no scratch on them...

A few of the vinyls from my collection back in Penang...did not know that most of the Pink Floyd I have are Japan pressed and they are in great condition (woohoo)...

We heard that Richard at Roxy opens for business till very late at night...so a bunch of us, for the fun of it decided to give him a visit late at night; went there after 10 pm and stayed till nearly past 11:30pm... He had a shipment of used records that just arrived...managed to get a few...including the following LPs: UK pressed, "Money for Nothing" single (the single is over 8 minute long): First pressing of Esther Ofarim's popular album; German pressed: Tokyo Orchestra Star Wars...Direct to Disc Japan Pressed: All in all...a worthwhile foray.

ha, ha...yes...got it from Zenn...the only unit there...he does not update his website or check his email often.
  10. Just found out that the copy I got from Red Point is a high quality audiophile pressing from Japan. Checked the catologue no. for this copy (SWX-6241) and this is what I found... http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=407007 And a very copy too, no scratch and hardly any pops and crackles...too bad the Obi and japanese lyric insert are missing...but can't complain having to pay only $5 for it.
  11. Ha,ha...yes, I was surprised too...really great recording for a live concert. Still a few copies at Red Point.

The SL-1210M5G comes in glossy piano-black finish with silver speckles. Think the silver is the 1200Mk5. The red light at the switch is standard for all versions. The Blue tracking light is special for the SL-1210M5G which is a 30th anniversary version of the 1200 series. Other models have white light.

On the Denon, I did an A-B with the stock footers and the TAOC 35s. Stock footers sound muddy compared to the TAOC. My setup is getting a bit messy...the CDP is pretty much neglected nowadays...very happy with the TT set up now, all the LPs, old and new, just sound so much fuller, smoother, and involving, compared to the CDs (I am just not good at describing sound)...Listening to "Chariots of Fire" soundtrack LP now...wow...the CD of this album is nothing like this...not even close.
  14. Usually have to work till after 7 pm...will be a bit of a rush to make it for an 8 pm show...

heh, heh...got it used. Quite a good condition one...only one previous owner...and he is not a DJ or scratcher...and according to him, seldom use it. Only thing, he accidentally threw away the hinges for the dust cover (so he did not use the cover...still wrapped in plastic when I brought it home)...will need to get that from Sim Lim tomorrow.

Had a hard time levelling again...ha ha...hard to put the Taoc underneath as the bottom is not flat...but this is a solid piece of tt...over 30lbs. Anyway...finally got it up and running and now enjoying it. Taking the Denon back to Penang next week...the fully auto will be great for my dad...now he can listen to all his Elvis and cliff richard's lps again.
  17. Got it from Roxy Excellsior? We figured it was you who bought it...

Yes, the TAOC 25 footers did not work for my TT either. Now using the Taoc Tite 35s under my TT.
