  1. now he's "Sith Lord of Tweaks" no longer "King of Snake"
  2. for the time being, one can't fully convert to TT. still need CDP la. some recording don't release on LP.
  3. both are decently good starter both are available for 3rd party upgrades. if you go for look, get Pro-Ject colour version. just my 0.20 cents you are fast bro!! and welcome to the TT club usually new LP depent on pressing, kick off @ $35 onwards. used can get fm $10 onwards. there are tons of used LP out there, just have to find them.... happy hunting
  4. Meat Is Murder - The Smiths (Remastered 180g vinyl)
  5. an audiophile goal - High fidelity!! so to say a low & high TT difference!
  6. actually set up a TT system is easy like one two three what you need is a TT (with arm & cartridge), a phono amp & interconnect to your amp. if your amp (Hi-fi amp I mean) already come with phono stage, u already saveup. beside kachui easy plug & play TT, for starter like us, Project Debut III or Rega P1 - both around 600 including cartridge & phono. P1 could be lower. Project Debut III colour version will be higher price. or can get used Technics SL1200MK2 or above, low model Thorens within your budget. no experience wise, my advise is buy new low budget model to play around. get familiar with those stuff then upgrade to further model. if you have cash, may consider to get something around 2-2.5K for start. this will keep you busy for a while.
  7. hmm... if the overall sound is impressive, u'll have omg that kind of "Wow" !! otherwise you'll need some time to get use on the new sound. first thing should be the smoothness, then no edgy, follow by musical, soundstage, body, punch, ambiance, details & mirco details..... let you get more involve with the music... if there's a CDP to compare on the spot, you will know immediately, what are the difference.
  8. is difficult not to be poisoned by Linn Sondek LP12 + Naim ARO tonearm unless the TT or cartridge is faulty. this is one of the killer TT imo and yes, Linn LP12 (not only Linn) play classical very very well! vinyl is not so expensive on normal pressed unless you are into Audiophild pressing.
  9. Welcome to the TT Club!! very nice looking TT does it come with cartridge?? a direct drive TT ??
  10. can eat! your chinchilla favourite snack!

  14. personally, i'm a CDP guy. dun unstand on those music files source there are lots of choices around 3k budget on new they are either between 1.8 - 2.8K. u need to audition them. can't tell u which one to get or better. u may consider either tube or S/S, China, European or US made CDP? maybe a few brands for your consideration. Stello, Raysonic, Micomega, C.E.C, Musical Fidelity, etc...
