i read on the hwz forum that a guy when to the apple service centre and they charge him 80 just for opening up. that's wad i read.

my old itouch button got stuck before, i when to this shop at sls, right opp the game shop at lvl 4 or 5 cant remember. cost be abt 65 if my memory serve me well enough. opening up the itouch is not a easy thing, it will leave dents in the casing. although the button was fix, it lost the clicky feel. but hack, it works for me.

the 5/5.5g ipods are those with the glossy surface. the newer gens are all metal surface. refurbished ipods are will fitted with brand new casing according to apple, so they shld be like brand new.

diy a short cable reversing the left and right lo. the headphone jacks of the ipods are connected to the mainboard via ribbons, cant fix unless replace it, or maybe it's not even the jack's fault.

has it always been the case? if's it's still under warranty u might wanna go have it checked out.
