No idea abt records but this is what i use in my room to listen to vocals. CD player - Audio Space 8i MkIII - Sonas Faber Concertos. I believe speakers are real impt. So i place more money into them and less into the Amp. You can save alot on cables by getting them from LHS. I use Belden 1313 for speakers and make my own ICs. Power cables too can be sourced from LHS. Oh yah i think those Phono players need a special input on the amps. So you might have to consider that when choosing your amps. Check with the more knowledgeable guys here.

There is a shop @ basement of People's park where KOBA is. Larry's hifi i thiknk. He got tubes there too. Not too sure if he is cheap but a set of 4 6550s are abt $385???

Either LHS in Sim Lim Tower or Koba @ People's Park. They can make up any length of cables for you. But only LHS has Nuerik and Carnare plugs. Koba does have a very nice Silver plated RCA plug.

Koba in People's Park Chinatown has got tubes. I know 2 shops in Burlinton Sq sells tube amps n tubes. One of them is Martin I think.
