  1. May be we should do a review on CD5400 vs CT810, hahaha..... Price is about the same.
  2. Hi Fox You may want to consider the Panasonic SL-CT810, although it is a portable CD player (Play CD, MP3 as well as WMA), I have not listen to the Marantz, can't compare. One unit for in-house and outdoor. You may give up your iPod after listening to the CT810, hahaha....
  3. First of all, I am not a salesman nor vendor. Just that I have someone coming from China this Thursday (26th Aug), I can help to arrange a max. of 3 units. Let me know by 10am tomorrow (25th Aug). RMB1200 per unit.
  4. Forgot one thing. Thanks to N@Z and Mackie for your kind consideration.
  5. Yes, Mackie is right. In fact I would like to bring your attention to this amp. I understand from some reviews, this amp go very well with the HD650. I do not have the HD650 yet, that is my dream. Mackie, can you give more detail comment on HD650 go with the Master Amp? Thanks a lot in advance.
  6. Sorry for my bad Singilsh. First of all, I thought everybody know this Master Headphone Amplifier from Original. I asked my colleague buy from China. Is ok for me to let go at the same price I bought (not making extra) if someone is interested. Since I thought it is not a selling ad, that is why i did not put this in the Classified. I appologize for the confusion. Attached a picture i got from internet.
  7. Hi all Just received my Original Master Headphone Amplifier. Is new, still in the BOX. If you are interested, I can let you have it first. RMB1200. If you are kind enought, add a bit of KOPI money. Especially those who has the HD650, Don't miss this offer. First come first serve. Not to sell, but to share.
  8. Has anyone of you try this: http://www.multimedia.hu/down/hangfal/a26.pdf I got this set for less than S$100. For me, it beats any other 5.1 multimedia PC speaker even price above S$200. This is the best value for money 5.1 multimedia PC. Look at the spec: Each satelites weight 350g, 6W RMS x 5, 20W RMS x 1 woofer. I recomment my friend a 4.1 version, he told me it sounds better then a mini-hifi.
  9. I had no chance to listen to the iRiver. I did consider the iRiver 550 at that time. Bring your earphone, CDs to test the unit.
  10. My porta system: Panasonic SL-CT810 + Pro.2 PH-1000 Limited Edition Very musical combination. The SL-CT810 is a very well build unit.
  11. can try the NAD 541/541i (hdcd). the transformer used in the "i" version is different.
  12. With the xchange rate, I paid S$180 $534-$90-$252-$12=$180 lah. BTW: price excl. a seafood dinner for my colleague.
  13. It is not DIY. It is a product from China. RMB880. Well below 100 EURO, cheaper than the Master Headamp from Original, and is 2-in-1, value for money. In fact I would like you to have an audition before telling you the price. With this price, why DIY? Of course, DIY is not because of the price. I mean I need to desolder some connection to pull out the complet board to take picture. The shop is in China, I ask my colleague to buy and bring it over, because it is "so cheap" I decide to take the risk. And no regret, in fact I am proud of it, hahaha.... Together with my Philips HP890 S$90, the Panasonic SL-CT810 S$252 just bought today, plus a half meter(S$10 a meter) long interconnector made from Audioquest type 4 speaker cable(crazy right?) + 2 RCA + 3mm stereo plug total S$12. Total system cost: ~S$534.
  14. Just bought it today during lunch time. Simply tested with a SONY MDR-G61A, Out of the box, un-amping. After two hours of listening(volume 10), ear not tired. The bass is just nice for me, not tight, but not the powerful type (s-xbs is not switch on yet). The high I would say is beauty, violin is sweet, piano is crisp. Mid is bright. Overall clean, detail, separation is good, good headroom also. I had audition the Philips AX7201 and Sony NE-10 at BEST, Great wall city. It was too noise at the place. For the AX7201, headphone must connecting to the remote. I like the ext. battery connect for the SONY, secure. I think the Sony has a better headroom, but the high is a bit too sharp to my ear (was using a supplied "ear-plug" type headphone for both unit). Some detail of the unit: - 1 bit MASH - Headphone ouput level RMS Max. 6mW+6mW, 16ohm (adjustable?) - Output voltage 0.6Vrms(50KOhm) - Frequency response 20 to 20K Hz (+0 -1.5db) - S/N > 96db - Sampling frequency 44.1KHz - WMA: 32kbps to 320kbps - mp3: 32kpbs to 320kbps - Ext batt holder - Include 2 pc rechargeable batt. - Optical out. - Remote control may need not to be connected. Overall it is a very good unit; sound quality, cosmetic wise. I am very happy with it, no regret. Btw: I found only one shop at Sim Lim Tower(2nd floor) selling this unit. There is one unit in Black on display. I went to Jade Gift shop on Sunday, it was closed, didn't see on display.
  15. Finally settle down with the Panasonic SL-CT810. S$240 + 5% GST Silver, Made in JAPAN
  16. Confirm its power output stage is MOS FET K214/J77. The tubes are for input and voltage amplification, and "current driving stage"? (sorry, hopefully you guy/gal know what I am talking, correct me if I am wrong) What tubes? let me pull out the whole thing and see. Need to de-solder some connections. How does it sound? good question, This is the one thousand and one headamp I have, The only thing I can say is...... I have nothing to compare.
  17. ya, may be you are right it is a field effect transistors. in fact I am not sure there is this thing call field effect tube. may be I have to pull out the complete PCB to take a look. sorry I don't know much about tubes.
  18. av98m: I have not try to fry an egg, but the hot surface is definitely not so good for the kids. I had turn it on over night, about 6~7 hours, with a pcdp run through out the night, it survive after one week. Q00: It is a tube headamp cum pre-amp. julery: Can see that you love this can too ). auqustineRS: welcome to the discussion. hacknet: The output power tube is Hitachi K214/J77 field effect tube. Sorry I don't know what config it is.
  19. Anybody interested to have some audition?
  20. Would like to try my amp? you are welcome. If more ppl interested, can arrange. But I don't have good headphone and pcdp to test.
  21. Just posted some picture of my tube amp on Home Equipment. Title: Headphone Amp Cum Pre-amp
  22. From the bottom window, can see the two tubes lighted up. Before it is heated up, the sound is quite harsh. Once is heat up, you can fry an egg on top of the unit.
  23. Line-in on the left which is connected to the PCSP. Pre-out are on the right is not connected.
  24. Using ALPS volumn control. WIMA/PHILIPS CAP. R type transformer.
