cunninglinguist 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 (edited) Hi, am looking for a DAC to pair with the above mentioned. Been looking around and saw the Zero DAC, and iBasso. Also found out that the MS-1 doesn't really require amping as it sounds pretty good on its own already. However, a suitable amp would make it sound "excellent". Hence I am really confused as I'm still not very clear about the concept of the DAC and amp thing in the first place. Budget is around $250-300 I listen to mainly electronic, chinese ballads and some r&b. Please advise! Edited November 23, 2009 by cunninglinguist
blackmouth0 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 hi, fellow MS 1 user there! to me, yes the ms1 sound decent already, but if your hand is itchy, like most of us, why not you can consider getting the Maverick Audio Tube DAC/headphone amp and some products from AUDIOTRAK as well. see the link attached, http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=10281 http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=10355

cunninglinguist 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 The Maverick is a home DAC or home AMP or home DAC/AMP. Now that you mentioned it, I forgot to add that I'd prefer a portable one.
