N@Z 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Leaks like the proverbial sieve! The Sonys would fare better.
lekguan 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 MX500 might be fine. But if you prefer pop, you might go for Aiwa V743 instead. These will be fine, since the library is quiet, and so you don't really need isolation. And they don't really leak sound. At least the MX500 doesn't. Wonder if our member "ting" who has experience with V743 can comment on how much sound it leaks.
Guest sweattt Report post Posted October 5, 2003 for koss 50, is the leak prominent even at mid-volume?
Guest sweattt Report post Posted October 5, 2003 thinking of getting the koss 50(cheaper alternative)... ex51 does not come in LP/SL... ex71 only available in SL in s'pore....
Blues 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 koss does leak, just like any open design headphone. But if you listen at normal volume, it shouldn't be that prominent.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 In a library it will be. I used my MX400 last time & I had to keep the volume down in order for the person at the same table not to give me 'glaring' looks.

I read somewhere that this V743 has some kind of design to reduce the sound leakage, I also find 743 to be less leak than normal, but keep in mind that I used to listen in quite low volumn.
