Thanks for your 2cents cool.gif I will check the ongoing PC show in expo, probably they are selling it at the same price as the online promo.

Has anyone of you try this:

http://www.multimedia.hu/down/hangfal/a26.pdf

I got this set for less than S$100.

For me, it beats any other 5.1 multimedia PC speaker even price

above S$200. This is the best value for money 5.1 multimedia PC.

Look at the spec:

Each satelites weight 350g, 6W RMS x 5,

20W RMS x 1 woofer.

I recomment my friend a 4.1 version, he told me it sounds better

then a mini-hifi.

i beg to differ. i heard the 2.1 version (my ex roommate has it) of it and i believe the 5.1 or 4.1 will sound similar.

i think they sound downright awful no.gif .

A creative cambridge FPS2000 will stomp it flat in every aspect except the price (used to sell for ~$150). but you can get it about 50-80 2nd hand. Its out of production long time ago and i think your philips is no diff (seen it since 4 years ago).

just my 2c, dont take it too seriously, if you love it, then good for you!! happy.gif

or you can go for the FPS1800. Should be around $50 - $80 second hand. If you want, I can sell you for the cheap because I have no space for 4 spks. biggrin.gif

Akira multimedia speakers can be found in SLS for $69, the sound is good enough, its the display that i like smile.gif

it has a digital VU meter infront + wireless remote, nice finish, wooden speaker box (not plastic) touch button controls & standby power
