Shamino 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 I have a fren who's looking to buy either 2 point or 4 point speakers for 80 bucks. Whats the best recommendation you folks have?
lekguan 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 (edited) I'd ask him to raise his budget a little and get Altec Lansing ATP3. Edit: around $85 @ Fuwell. Edited November 8, 2003 by lekguan
Q00 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 id rather go to the hardwarezone garage forums to get myself a better pair at a knock down price...
Blues 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 go to hwz forum.. for that price you can get the Altec 2100 I think.
fishball79 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 At that price used is best. TDK's tremor series 2.1s are not bad.
headphonecrazy 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 IMHO, the best speaker for gaming is the Klipsch Promedia, if you have the $$$.
Shamino 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 If it was me I'd probably go 2nd hand, but the fella seems to want only 1st hand stuff. I'll tell him about the ATP3 then. Thx guys
driver 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 try this one @ S$99 at Creativex Warehouse Sale. http://creativex.creative.com/products/vie...&idProduct=3708
fishball79 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 If possible aim for 2 way bookshelf active monitor speakers or basically good sounding speakers that don't come with sub. At that price u'd sacrifice some bass for much better sound quality. Can always add a cheap china made sub later.
Q00 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 hmmm.... didnt think of it that way... 5-7 book shelves and a sub... 5.1 or 7.1....
lekguan 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 IMO, usually people at that budget means that they don't care about that kind of quality. Tonal balance comes first, followed by amount of bass. Details and such make not much a difference to them. But that is just what I think, and observe. It may not be true, but generally speaking, it should be true. Blues 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 actually I like the old acs33 . They went for 60 plus last time. Quite bassy
kenshinz 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 I still like my ACS45.1, solid bass and good details, one of the few with wooden subwoofers back then.
Blues 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 My friend has it. Agree it's quite solid
