red_ryder 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 My new DT931 cable is not long enough for me to relax on the sofa. Any recommendations on good extension cables for cans? Approx price, location? Also, what is the best way to clean CDs which got fungus? Last time I tried using a lint free cloth (3M product) but still will scratch the cd leh. Should I use any liquids? Mackie 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 U can ask Robert of LHS, 2nd floor SLT to make one for U. A Belden microphone cable will do the job nicely. Feel free to ask for his recommendation. Otherwise, I'm sure Peak Fusion (agent for Beyer) sells the 5m extension cord included with DT880. I can check the price for U but I tend to favour the 1st option. Wet the cd with water and wipe it dry of excess water. Use a lint free cloth (3M or those for spectacles) to finish up. If your cds are really dirty, dilute "Kiwi Kleen Glass" solution with water and clean the cd. Finish with a rinse and wipe dry.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 I pretty much do the same thing as Mackie when cleaning really dirty CDs but that's as far as I go. I don't use cleaning agents unless it is specifically designed for use on CDs.
Mackie 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Even those solution specifically for use on cds are dubious as it often contains alcohol.
