Mackie 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 What gives? It depends on lots of factors isn't it? No one can offer any constructive opinions if supporting information such as present sound system, taste and repertoire are missing. Wanna try again?

Mackie 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 philips hp890 More than decent sounding considering the price and especially so after a few easy mods. However, this model is a close back design.
Charismatic 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 So what's next? Any better cans around the HD497 price? another senn loh, HD200, a older model. sounds more detail and accurate than HD497 but it's harder to drive than HD497 and because of the detail n accuracy, it may not be as musical as HD497. Mackie 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 (edited) pics shows mesh type grille, tot it's open? aesthetics only. Definitely a closed back design for I own 2 pairs of which. One being an abandoned set from ablaze. Edited July 19, 2004 by Mackie
