Headphone out on Pure DAB 701es

thinking of getting a pair of headphones to partner it. Any recommendations?

basically, checking if anybody currently using the headout on the Pure to gather feedback.

 

Not keen on getting a separate amp to drive the cans though - but open to mods as per effectiveaudio. Reason - just want to maintain the single chassis to reduce clutter.

If you don't have any intention for a HP amp then maybe try easier driven cans with 32ohms. $500 should give you a wide range to choose from.

Tried using Senn PX200 listening to Cruise(smooth jazz) and Lush..15-20minutes im turning the vol down..switch to a ahem..Labtec LT-830 not as clear and dynamic but can listen for much longer period.

 

Looks like Grado is the way to go unamped..which model has smoother/more rounded highs? Doubt bringing the DAB tuner for audition will help as im guessing the reception would probably suck at MBD or Stereo Elect.
