Chan_ryu 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2006 (edited) why not get the prodigy 7.1 for better software support. the m-audio is using Envy24 chipset...the onkyo is Envy24MT. I do like the slimness of onkyo http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...:en-US:official Edited August 7, 2006 by Chan_ryu
yang2668 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 in fact i using the m-audio revo 7.1 few yrs. sometimes it the rca o/p will come out some annoyed buzzing noise, after do a digital / analogue reset from the m-audio s/w setting. it back to normal again. wondering is that the s/w problem? will the prodigy 7.1 have this prob also? revo 7.1 i used it 4 home theater, and now i thinking a 2ch only sound card for listen music. so anyone encountered any buzzing noise occured from the m-audio 2496 and onkyo se-90 b4? thanks. i hope this thread can bcum a good sound card discussion......(no offend to any brand)

Chan_ryu 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 use emu0404, good for 2 channel its good for 2 channel abit too bright for some pple. it really brings forward the sound. and definitely not as warm as Envy 24 chips based cards I've owned EMU 0404 and terratec DMX Fire LT before and I sold off the EMU 0404
