LOL. PCDP upgrade has been doen b4 though. Search head-fi I remember a guy did modify his PCDP - why I don't know. I suspect for the hell of it - sorry I'm jsut not a portabel person.

I've seen them, I'm just wondering since most people complain about the headphone out so why not try improving it? It's cheaper than buying an overpriced vintage PCDP on ebay.

 

If I can find the parts needed & wasn't so crap at DIY I would have tried already because the Fixup modded Sony SRF-84 was a big revelation for me.

 

I use portables on a regular basis because I move around the house alot when I'm not at the PC. Living room, bedroom, gazebo (outside the house) so I can't actually lug my +5Kg CDP around with all the related 'accessories'!
