cmk 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 so its made of titanium? 8kg is light!!! Actually its about 8.9kg, more like 9kg. Just wanted to experiment and see how light I could go with a hardtail. hey! dun look down on urata. urata is gd cheap stuff. hasa has quite a heavy body as well. Actually weight is good for downhill. There are some nutcases, with really heavy bikes, but strictly downhill and they only ride full-sus.

huihong 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Just got my GT Avalanche 3.0 at Hup Leong Company @ Chin Swee Rd near Chinatown. Auntie was nice , not too over-persuasive, chatted a bit. Saw a couple of ang moh talking about some stuff , prolly hardcore cyclists lol. I got something to ask about the gear switch at the handlebars. What are they for? Im not too sure about such things. Ballack 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 ^ it's the same as gears for manual cars. take a look at your bike. see the wheel and the "gear box". if you've got 3 gears on left handle, right handle with 7, you'll see sprocks of different sizes, 3 & 7 respectively. it's essential for mountain bikes, where you want fast, use higher gear, when going up steep slopes, go gear one and pedal like mad
