acidz 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2006 Hi all. I have a pair of 2-years-old Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers, but I get this annoying not-so-faint high-pitched whine when I turn it on. The sound is present even when not connected to any source. Any area that I can check on, or is it time to get a new pair of speakers?
xboxer 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 I used to have ATP3 as well. No such problems. Could be your speaker is going to spoil. Afaik for PC speakers, only high end ones produces hissing sound not low end models.

Kenchi 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2006 Hey bro! I am facing the same problem! I am using ACS54 & I can hear this "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise coming out from the woofer itself without any music playback, I muted everything except wave. I found out the problem was with the woofer as when I tilt it or put it upside down (different orientation) the noise went away, only to come back if I put it in a way it doesn't like it. Time 2 get headphones, replaced all the speakers!
That dude 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2006 Its 2 years old? I guess sometimes these noises are caused by dirty contacts, try cleaning all the contact points with solvents to get rid of the dirt/mould. It should clear up unless ur speakers are spoilt.
