yotiao 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 slwiser and yotiao. Would you mind sharing some PICTURES of your set-up please? Yesterday I placed two HAL-O tube dampers on Yamamoto, and guess what, HD600/Equinox sounded even more open & transparent. Previously it was very sweet and a little veiled, now the veiled completely gone. I also suspect my Yamamoto still burning in and it sounds like it is. I have more than 500 hours on Yamamoto (2 months), it's really a keeper. I was listened to Edition 9 and Yamamoto, music sounds very euphonic and romantic, and the bass has a better "shape" than before. The headphones I strongly recommend to try with Yamamoto: DT990 and K501, they have never sound so MUSICAL, refined and FULL to me.

milkpowder 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) Was just reading the specs on the page linked to by Nu_Omega and noticed how weak the speaker amp function of it is: 240mW into 8 ohms. What speakers could you run with it? It would be too weak even for ultra-efficient Avantgarde horns unless you listen to them in near-field setting! Certainly wouldn't be able to drive K1000s properly. Interesting headphone amp nonetheless. Edited November 11, 2007 by milkpowder

He intends that it would only be played by very sensitive speakers and at very low volumes if used for speakers.
