aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2006 what is Microphonics? It's the horrible sound of the wires being rubbed against something else, which is rather irritating to the listener.
Kenchi 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 does it sounds like some wind rustling onto the wires? awful kind of noise i must say..those wires i seen from superfi seems rather "sturdy" that its unlikely 4 that to happen?
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 Yes, it's something like that. I don't think "sturdy" wires can really solve the problem. It's still best to ask the other super fi. owners. Braided wires, on the other hand (such as those by Westone), seem to be great at countering microphonics.
norseman 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 Sturdiness does not nessassarily mean no microphonics. Some aftermarket cables can be really sturdy, but the increased stiffness actually makes microphonics worst.
