radioactive28 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2006 i've my reservations over whether or not an amp will be helpful, but keeping my fingers crossed. the er6i on the home amp's headphone out had an annoying obvious hump on the treble, the cause of which i have yet to check. hopeful, it's just bad match of impedance. radioactive28 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 don't know if you're still looking out for this, but here's my take: on the whole, bass and treble extension and roll-off showed a little improvement, but nothing spectacular. then again, considering i'm using an iriver player, there's really not much improvement to be expected. detail resolution might have improved slightly, but i can't be certain since i'm using this for my portable setup. the noise from the mrt doesn't do well for detail appreciation. if i do closer listening, i might post more thoughts (or not).
