radioactive28 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2007 (edited) I've been rather curious about this. Bass extension I can tell: it goes to the point where I feel more than hear. Now, treble extension, how do you look out for it? I can hear up to 18kHz pure tones on my IEMs, but in actual music, I only notice its absence, not its presence. A 16kHz-low-passed track seems lacking in 'air'. Edited February 14, 2007 by radioactive28
xjazzdummy 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2007 If there's treble extension, well recorded music will sound "open", i.e. you'll have this sense that your ears are opened up. Please don't mistake bright sounding or presence boost (2-3kHz) for treble extension. Things sound sibliant, forward, or fast does not necessarily have treble extension.
