babliku 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I'm looking for a pair of IEMs at about $150. My main criterion is it has to isolate well. I'm a drumset player and I'm hoping that there are IEMs which can block out sound almost as effectively as earplugs (like those we use in the SAF firing ranges). Please tell me if I'm expecting too much. I wanna play the drums and listen to my mp3 player at the same time. I also often listen on buses and stuff, and I don't like TVmobile. Sound quality is not really an issue. My current pair is the Sony EX51, and I have absolutely no complaints about its sound quality. Hope you guys can recommend me an appropriate model. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4101...19L._AA280_.jpg BTW another less important question: the EX51 I was talking about just sort broke. If you see the link I posted above, you can see there's this silver stripe of plastic with 'SONY' on it. That bit fell off, exposing the wire. I was wondering if this is a problem, like if it'll affect the sound, etc. Looking at the construction of the earphones, it doesn't look like that piece is important at all haha. flashlight 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 How about the recently launched Altec Lansing UHP-301? Should be within your budget. I've no first-hand experience with them though.
Guest dragonboy Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Ultimate Ears Superfi 3 studio retailing about $150+. Very popular with drummers. Bass more accurate and also more distinctive comparing to other single amature earphones like westone um-1 or shure SE-110 at that price range.
babliku 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Thanks. Is the Shure SE110 sold in Singapore? It seems like a relatively new product. Edited February 21, 2008 by babliku
Guest dragonboy Report post Posted February 22, 2008 Yes., the SE-110 is already available in S'pore. I'm not that impressed by its performance at that price range. At that price range..... UE SF3 will easily beat SE-110. Try both to believe.
babliku 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2008 Do you know where it's sold? I don't see it on the Stereo Electronics website.
Guest dragonboy Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Not up-dated, I think. I tried the SE-110 & SF3 at Stereo.
