sonq 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) I'm hunting for a pair of used 650 to convert to balanced. I hope someone here can advice me on the following: Where can I get balanced cables made for 650 locally? I've heard the RAL cable sound incredibly good but maybe hard to come by. Should I get 3-pin X2 or 4-pin XLR connectors for better sound quality? Anything I should be looking out for when buying used 650? Thanks. xjazzdummy 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Or you can try Corda higher end amps. eg Opera. They offer the benefits of balanced without having you to rewire your cans. Works with all cans too. Better value for money?
sonq 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2008 Actually eyeing Little Dot's upcoming VI balanced tube amp. I have a 880 but the balanced mod will not be reversible.
shadowmoses 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 LD Mk VI, interesting. i should be visiting Little Dot in Shenzhen in abt 2 weeks and hope to get to listen to the Mk VI myself, too bad i dun have to moolah to land myself one of those.. i think you'll need a balanced source to use one cuz it doesn't come with the phase-splitter.
