Phi 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2008 Hi, I am planning to buy a new IEM. I need it to be around 0.5M long. However, I noticed that Etymotics, UE, Westone (except Shure & Audio-Technica) all produce IEMs that are more than 1M long. Is it possible to shorten the IEM to 0.5M? How do I do it? I searched the forums and I understand that you have to solder. But I have no experience doing this. Will it void my warranty? Sometimes IEMs fail and I would like to have it replaced. Thank you very much.

radioactive28 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 Think you're looking at UEs or full customs, for customising cables. The new Shures come with short cables. Any other brands, and you'll definitely be voiding the warranty.
