Any comfortable closed full-sized headphones with decent sounds?

Recommended Posts

Jaben not carrying I think, they told me I need to order for it. I browsed through the website of Stereo, they do not have Proline in their product archives~~

Jaben carries the line because that's where I bought mine. They just might not have them in stock at the moment. ;)

CALL Stereo for the Prolines. They might also be able to get it for you.

But as you can see from the web they are bigger than the Hi-Fis but a bit smaller than Fullsized headphones such as Denons and Beyers. It would be great if you can audition one or have a hold of it if it's for your liking.

Prolines don't generally look great due to the plastic housing. But the plastic is tough. I gave mine to my younger brother who inadvertently slept w/ them on. They were still intact the day after. Had to BONK his head for doing that to some not so cheap cans. :bash:

As weinerproc said. The Prolines have an insane burn in. Mine took around 200 hours to have it stable. But they rock the house with the deep bass and the very nice highs.

Just had to give it to my brother for my love of the Senns sound signature and my affliction with WOOD. ;)

Oops, hehe, that's fantastic news to hear. I do not really care about the housing material, but I dun quite like the blue color of it, maybe shouldn't be so serious on it. However I found the PRo900 looking more appealing than the 750. How about the SQ then? much better. Also wonder how much would it be~hehe~

Got a question, Is there any other full-size headphones are designed like the Ultrasone style? folded, closed and full-size, with decent sounds?~~

There is a thread on Head-fi comparing the Pro 900 and the Pro 750. Just google. Note it's a long read. =)

But if I remember it right I still would like the Pro 750 less the blue and gray colour. lol!

Hmmm, not sure about foldable. But some Sony MDR series are foldable. I had a CD900st which was very good. But to like it is a personal preference since it was designed to be Studio Monitor than anything else so it will be VERY unforgiving for bad recordings and a bad source. :rclxub:

I remember the V6 and other Sony MDR series are similarly foldable like the Pro 750.

Unfortunately teh Audio techmnica monitors with the same style as the Ultrasone are low end models. Which I still wouldn't get for myself right now. My personal favorites on the AT line are wooden cupped ones.

The beyer DT770 is also ok for teh price and SQ and it is closed. But I haven't really gotten to like Beyers aside from teh DT880 600ohm or the DT990s. =)

ya, what I really want is actually

first a comfortable closed full size headphones with decent sounds fitting my music tastes

second should be ok to go with portable amps, coz I dun really want big desktop ones, hehe~

third some portability, like foldable Ultrasones, but other cans also can, not a must have thing~

Because I only plan to go for a portable amp but can not stand the clamping of ESW-9 since I wear spectacles. Now it seems that the only headphones which fit into my requirement would be the Ultrasone Prolines, hehe~

I believe the Ultrasone is the only brand that's foldable for all their cans including the flagship ED9.

that's a real specialist, haha~

By the way, why Ultrasone is so im-pop here, I asked both Jaben and Stereo, neither carry Ultrasone Pro series, and only Jaben told me they can order for me if I want~Did not ask the price though~Anyone got any idea how much would a brand new Pro 900 cost? as well as Pro 750~

no idea on Pro 900. never seen one yet so far.

pro 750 is at 6++ range.

get a used pro 750. save you for burnning in.

Ultrasones cans need more than usual burn in time to let them sound right.

6++ range?~~ which is so much higher than that price range quoted above, 480-500, how come?

I bought it at that price too. I thought you just posted an estimated amount? But in terms of requirements you posted. It was the thing that fitted your bill.

Just as an idea.. check this posting on Amazon. Just add some shipping should be the same. =(

http://www.amazon.com/ULTRASONE-PROline-75...39111444&sr=8-1

In any case a 2nd hand unit is really less than your budget minimum.

The Proline 900 should be Higher in price. There is also a listing at Amazon if you want to have an estimated amount.

EDIT: Try looking at UK sites with the exchange rate it seems it may be somewhat less. I just don't know how much they bill for shipping. =/

"That price" of yours is 6xx right? as converted from the Amazon price?~

Then I think the PRO 900 price would be a fascinating number then loh~haha

I dun know if I order directly from Jaben, how much would it cost~?
