JBL Reference 220 vs Creative's EP-630

Recommended Posts

Calling out to all JBL 220 and Creative EP-630 owners!!, What are the strong and weak points of these 2 IEM earphones. I have singled both of them out and am planning to buy one of them.

I was wondering which is more LONG LASTING, BETTER VALUE, BETTER SOUND. There are so many stories about EP-630 rubber cords being easily spoilt to JBL's too powerful bass etc. etc.....

CREATIVE EP-630

Driver Units: 9mm Neodymium magnet transducer

Frequency Response: 6Hz ~ 23kHz

Impedance: 16ohms

Sensivity: 106dB

Cord Length: 1.2m (Oxygen-Free Copper Cable)

Input Plug: 3.5mm stereo gold-plated miniplug

Net Weight: 9g (without packaging)

JBL REFERENCE 220

Maximum Input Signal 5mW

Sensitivity 94dB/mW @ 1kHz

Frequency Response 20Hz – 20kHz

Input Level/Impedance 16 Ohms

Dimensions Diameter — 13.5mm

Wire length — 111cm

I dont know if specification play a part in making the earphones sound better or worse but the EP-630 sensitivty is 106 while JBL is 94....does this difference mean anything??? PLS HELP!

So JBL beats EP 630 hands down when it comees to durability? Stereo at Causeway is selling JBL for 60 bucks while EP 630 for 40 and I really wanna make that 20 dollars difference count....

Ive had too many earphones being blown up on the left side of the earpiece.....

Hey on a side note, are we allowed to return or exchange an earphone cos when I was living in the UK, you were allowed to do that...

eh, i tihnk better nt put the price over here!

yea, to me, i think the JBL sound better and last better then the creative

In singapore , i dun think you are allow to exchange or return the earphone due to hygiene issue. however, if your earphone were to spoil within a year, you can bring it to the agent for servicing!
