My interpretation is as follows: Normally audiophile is music lover but music lover needs not to be an audiophile. It seems like u have to be a music lover first before u r "upgraded" to audiophile. Once u r "upgraded" to audiophile, broadly speaking, u may either join the Pro-Sound Clan or the Pro-Music Clan. Some of the characteristics of a Pro-Sound Clan man/woman may be more on the harder stuff, he/she is a tweaker, a system/brand matcher, a DIYer, brand studyer(a person that have a lots of info/knowhow on a particular brand), cable studyer, etc. Some of the characteristics of a Pro-Music Clan man/woman may be more on the softer stuff, he/she wants the system to produce the kind of music he/she is most fond of, the "emotional" effect his/her system can bring out, such as whether the music reproduced sounds "live", "real", "true", etc. The harder stuff to them is to facilitate the kinds of abstract quality they sought after. I think I m now in the "upgrading" process. Of course, please don't take my words seriously

497 is hp so it's more bulky than the sony. I bet u have taken that into consideration. if I were u I would choose 497 over the sony. Listened it at people's audio at people's park. Direct from the phone output of an aiwa discman, some pop song, sorry I forgot which song was it, not bad. Listened to 477 at that time also, it's not as good as 497. Please note that this is my personal opinion.

hmm...OOT(over off topic) already as the thread growing, sorry MODs,ok i back to subject proper. Any cans lovers in ya school or working place? 2 to 3 hp users but they are not serious music lovers, most likely is used it to block noise. As my workplace is rather noisy, alot of time i need to put on the hp to block the noise. Of course, it serves two purpose for me as i block the noisy as well as enjoy the music.

Oh...ic , question(serious question, so u must be serious oso), u want to know the can so as to know the girl or want to know the girl so as to know the can? my suggestion(in extremely humble terms), u can know the can without knowing the girl or u can know the girl and don't bother abt the can.
