do any of you have problem with the remote? bought the nomad fm remote to use with the muvo 2. under normal wear and tear, this is lately what I've been experiencing:- 1) the buttons are not responsive (slow reaction ), not working properly(press button to increase volume it lowers the volume instead sometimes). 2) the display on the remote keeps on turning on and off 3) sound comes on intermittently, sometimes left ear not working, sometimes right (loose wiring??) 4) don't know if it's just me, cos I don't time it but i feel the remote really sucks up the battery life of the player. without it, the player seems to last much longer. 5) tried the recorder function and find it very soft. know it's still under warranty and i can bring it to creativex but to go down to jurong east is a pain. I live in hougang wish they came up with a better remote like those on iriver players which are top-notch. oh well..but that being said, been using the muvo 2 with my audio technicas ath-cm5 and my panasonic (sony nudex look alikes) earphones, sounds pretty good. but navigation thru a huge list of songs is a chore

out of curiosity, what speakers are you all using with the revo 7.1? read somewhere that you have to pair it with good speakers to hear the difference. How good is good?? klipsch promedia ?? creative gigaworks? not sure if it's worth the upgrade considering that i'm still using my creative fps1800 (4.1) speakers also considering audigy 2 or extigy

for teamdigital, if by auditioning, you mean try out different earphones then no, they do not let you try before you buy. The unit in Peninsula is NOT a retail shop. you cannot go there straight and buy. You have to contact them first and wait for them to inform you to collect it from them. Once there you should bring ur music player or use their radio there to test it . Important to check for faults before you leave the place, they do not accept returns. From personal experience: For singapore prices, they ask you to email them for quote. I got my reply in 2 days. Then after I replied with my confirmed order, I waited another 2 days for the order confirmation email. For collection, it has to be during working hours (before 6pm on weekdays). I had to go down during lunchtime to get it as I end my work at 6pm. a bit of a hassle, if you ask me. my advice is if you want to get it immediately, then get it from a retail shop. but if u can afford to wait then you can try getting from them. hope this helps

i think you can find them at tat chuan audio at the adelphi. address below: 1 Coleman Street #01-17 The Adelphi Singapore 179803 Tel:(65) 6334-5566 Fax:(65) 6337-7244 Not sure about the cost, but as an indication, the promedia 2.1 was S$399 (the last time i asked) so the 5.1 ultra should be considerably dearer. not sure about the running in process though.

agree, u might want to check out the panasonic. I find it comparable to the sony nudex, but at about 20 bucks cheaper (about $54) cheers.

never had the Sony EX 71 so can't compare with it. Did own the EX70 but it died on me in less than a year I've been using the panasonic for about a week with the medium size plugs on my muvo 2 mp3 player, so here are my comments: Once you get a good seal, the bass is pretty strong (comparable to the ex70). My initial feeling on first listen is that the bass drowned out the singing and the instruments. Although it doesn't seem as much now, perhaps it improved after running in a while. Singing is clear but I find the instruments sounds not as detailed (compared to my audio technica cm5 which has a more detailed sound but a weaker bass cos I can't stuff them in my ears well) Construction wise it isn't that sturdy either i.e. wires are pretty thin meaning they aren't very durable but neither was the sony ex70 anyway. It'll better suit those who listen to bass-heavy music. to sum up, u get the same or better quality than the sony for $20 less. ** pardon my amateurish comments, but my ears aren't so discerning and i'm not sure of audio terminology. I just listen to the music and describe what i know

To find the panasonic, try :- 1) jade gift shop (2nd floor at beach road cinema) 2) http://www.teamdigital.net , email them for a price quote, collection point is a unit at peninsula plaza should be about $56 or less for the sharp hp-md33, 1) www.bluetin.com (SGD64 ) 2) www.audiocubes.com (USD39.00 not counting shipping) hope it helps

1) koss ksc-50 - $45 good bass if you don't mind clip-ons 2) sennheiser hd497 - $100 to $109 ( sennheisers come with 2 year warranty. ) 3) grado sr-60 - about $120? i've only tried 1). But the other 2 options are 'upgrades' I'm considering for myself.

Hi one option if you don't mind a little DIY, is to get a creative muvo2 shell (the player without the 4 GB microdrive) and put ur CF card in. The steps on how to do so are available on the net. just do a search in google. although I must warn you that not all brands of CF cards can work with it. I read somewhere that Sandisk CF cards have been known to work. I think you can get the muvo shell from Ebay for about S$100. More work involved but it's a cheaper alternative and sound quality is quite good. Throw in S$99 for the FM Tuner cum remote control which you can get in Singapore (e.g. royale computer, funan it mall). just my 2 cents. well I'm using a muvo2 myself, but I haven't done the steps to swap the microdrive with a CF card as the 4 GB suits my purposes for music and backups.
