  1. Chill everyone. I am sure such things are everywhere in this world. Not just to a specific race or place. Scams/piracy are just natural reactions to sales and competitions. Even in japan where the people religiously pride their nation's "made in japan"'s produce, succumb to pirated goods occasionally. Let's just say we keep on our toes and look out for such "goods"!
  2. Hi Zap, I wouldn't discuss about the earphone here cos this thread is gonna go several pages. There's a couple of threads by those who bought them from me and some on Head-Fi. Perhaps you would like to check there for a more scrutinising review? I think you can get more feedback and recommendations there. If you want to get it, kindly let me know cos I think I want to settle this early so the others won't have to wait that long to get their toy. Best rgds,
  3. O.O Just curious idkfa, do you use the remastered 1997 Special Edition Version or the original one from the 1983 release? Somehow I prefer the old non-remastered version, the remastered one sounds . . . funny Edit: Forgot got another version, the 1990 one by The Skywalker Symphony. That one is too slow for me. Edit 2: My choices would be the Throne Room and Finale from the Skywalker Symphony release, that track has some nice reverb Take Five by Dave Brubeck, and some choir music, preferably with some solo soprano parts. Ha! I prefer the 1990 Skywalker Symphony version. Somewhat I felt the other versions don't give me that extra "richness" and they sounded more "open". May the force be with you.
  4. I'll definitely bring along my Star Wars Soundtrack. "Forrest Battle"'s my favourite for such purposes. You can also try searching under "perfect song" in Head-Fi forums for recommendations.
  5. Anymore interested in this group buy? Else I will confirm only: Fongalv(1 set) & Inc(2 set). Can Fongalv and Inc once again confirm your orders so I can get them quickly. Hope to do it by coming tuesday. I have three methods of shipping: a. Individually mailed using 3~4 day Express EMS shipping ard SGD$15.00. b. Individually mailed with packaging stripped and mailed only with bare earphones using normal air mail. SGD$7~9 I think. c. Shared EMS Express: SGD$15.00 divide by 3 units to be fair. Each abt SGD$5.00 (both parties to agree and one person act as middle person) *kindly note that EMS is insured and trackable. (recommended and faster) Once you guys decide on the shipping method, I'll let you know the total costs. Should be ard SGD$55 give take. Best rgds,
  6. I don't think they are that atrocious? You just have to avoid a certain guy (just do a search), and auditions are allowed AFAIK. Besides they carry the largest range of headphones, at least certain brands like Koss that are not easily available elsewhere locally. LOL. Maybe I am too bad. But Hung bros is too small a shop to avoid "that" certain someone. Well, I must say they do carry a wide range of headphones. Sony, Senns and Beyers. But now, Beyers can be found at Parklane. Senns can be gotten even at Challenger and Sonys, well, Mustafa?? LOL. I believe the Sony 7506 are out of stock at mustafa. They do have the V6 though. I brought a friend to buy them at $156 abt two mths ago.
  7. Hung Bros for the one stop shop? I think they will try to stop you even before you ask something. To me, Hung Bros is as good as viewing a printed catelogue. I second Makie's statement on auditioning before buying. It's ultimately crucial. Glad to know that there is such a shop at Parklane. Will defintely visit there when I am back in singapore.

    Hello all

Hello to you too. This is not as "hot" as Head-Fi forums or Hardware Zone but then, it's out very own!! This place is anything but "cold". You'll be surprised to get nice, friendly replies and good advices here. Bet you on it.
  9. Do you mean pairing the headroom with the shure E3c?
  10. Interestees, kindly reply after this post. Best rgds, Interestees update: FongAlv: 1 set Inc: 2 set
  11. I like your analogy of "high resolution photography" in this case. Good example!
  12. I have a friend in singapore who is interested but super anal about dead pixels. Please advice on the local warranty, ie applecare or standard. Kindly leave your contact on my PM. I will get back to you.
  13. Actually I thought the build of the Sharps are not that solid. The wire's kinda thin and the drivers a little plasticky. If the creatives are the worser of the two, I can imagine how bad it must be. Can the guys who got the sharps from me confirm this?

    HP890 at S$68

LOL. Only a bit more muffled? That is bad. Upper trable coarse? Badder. Loudness is not an issue with phones isnt it? But I am sure the Philips are comfy. As for sound...

    Swing/Jazz

I simply love Robbie William's "Swing when you're winning" album. He give that extra touch. Get the live version if you can.
  16. if you are interested about the MD33s, let me know. Someone's also interested in it. Perhaps if possible, I'll do another group buy and ship it over. PM me if you are interested Yon.
  17. Hi Yon, welcome to the club. I think you got lotsa reading up to do. Try to dig into the previous thread about all your qns. And try not to discuss in the classifieds section. Mod's not gonna be too happy abt it...
  18. I think they get tons of mails everyday. Furthermore, they are not a large corporation. I think it's only fair to wait for a week or so? Do check out the Head-Fi forums to ask ard if people's gotten from them. I think they are perfectly trustworthy.
  19. Get the MS1. It's supposedly the inbetween of the Grado SR80 & SR125. Either one you get, it'll be a distinct leap from your KOSS. Dun mean to be rude, but the portapro's not a really good comparison. Koss are bassheads. Grados rock hard, but not the "badaboom" kinda cans IMHO.

    E-MU 0404

It won't cause hissing or distortions but to the audiophile fanatic, an added connector means a degrade somehow somewhere. I can never hear the differences when I use a mini to a 1/8" converter. But if you want a "piece" of mind, just mod and recable the 1/4" female plugs like whatevil-zen said. Strip them out and resolder them with the 1/8" plugs or get them done at SLS.

    E-MU 0404

Why can't you connect them? Doesn't the E-Mu provides the additional cables?
  22. I'll like to solve the puzzle. Sim Lim Square...!
  23. I'll like to buy a vowel please...
  24. Those are good onee! Shures and Sennheisers. I bet it must be Sensaphonics to OEM the MD33s.
  25. Humm...Sanwa? Shinko? Sanyo? LOL. Didn't they just OEMed a Sharp as mentioned above?
