  1. https://carousell.com/p/36808590 No introductions required if you are in the audio circle. Bought this in Japan to pair up with my Sony CD3000 a few years ago. Have used it with various other headphones and etymotics er4S etc. Item is in great working condition. Comes with power cable and original manual. Voltage is 100-120V so you will need a step up transformer for Singapore. Asking for SGD$250 PM me in carousell for offers. Pickup at Tampines (need to deal by end of the week)
  2. Some Singaporeans may be lazy but not all. Travel around and I personally believe that you will appreciate your country more. Don't just scrutinise the bad things. Look for the good things as well. (At least the queueing up is orderly...in some countries...bla bla...) A bit out of point....but correct me if I am wrong... I believe that the people distributing the papers are paid to do their job. Today is a free paper from SPH. Free paper involves lots of sponsorship from advertisers, and those "Distributirs" are merely ambassadors from SPH making sure that the papar(or the ads =]) get read by the mass public.

  4. Hi Rameish, May I know how much money it take to maintain this forum? I remember there was a time about a year ago when Ablaze was running this forum and SGHeadphones had a call for donations. A few members and I donated a sum of money to this forum during our mini-meet session and we all got extra mailbox space and special mention as contributors. Even thought I am a lurker in the forum now, I don't mind donating a small sum of money once in a while because I do get lots of good info from kind people here. Why not start that Call for Donations again? I am sure that there will always be the kind ones who do help out.
  5. Yahooo! How's everyone? Maybe it's time we introduce SGHeadphones's own Headphone Babe Pageant? Get ourselves a babe ambassador? lol. (no offence ladies)
  6. Happy birthday mackie and I want a sexier avatar pls!! God I miss the boA one...
  7. Happy Chinese New Year of the Dog! May we all have a dog's improved ultrasonic hearing range!! Gong Hei Gone Hei!!
  8. Can we ban the Banned Moderator? Just kidding. Appreciate you keeping this site clean and green!
  9. It honestly did nothing for my E5c but the superduper moment came when I paired it with the Beyer DT250 and ER4p. It's probably not the right combo for your setup.
  10. Man, was that a freaking good morning read!! I already somewhat knew abt EAC's magical powers but now... It's like Gandalf the Grey transforming into Gandalf the White! lol. Such is the new age technological wonders of the 21st century. While I am not ready to jump right into some Zcables and dedicated power units, I will definitely give the "kiasu" EAC ripping method a most enthusiastic try! It's amazing how this silly thread of mine turned madness. Based on this thread alone, I already felt a 10% audiophile upgrade in me. lol. Thanks so much guys for the infos! Meanwhile I want more! More contributions please! Everyone should go read that article! Here it goes again: http://www.soundstageav.com/audiovideotrends/20050415.htm
  11. I seriously don't think AA will do another one so soon. Anyway, what we did was we all went down to Bishan Community Centre. There you can book a classroom with aircon and power outlets for your gear. Chairs, tables and even whiteboard included for your tutorials. heh. I think it's S$15 per hour. But we all ended up in delifrance sipping weird coffee and passing wires around the table. lol.
  12. I actually organised a "Mini-Meet" last year ard march I think. It was rather a great experience meeting everyone but not an easy task though. I can help you guys get a discounted air ticket here then. Shall we say, meet in Akihabara? No need to bring gears. All there and all you can listen. lol
  13. There will always be a meet if there is an organiser. Someone's gotta do the dirtywork.
  14. I use a aiwa sports earphone with a headband. I know that sony has some sports headband earphones that comes with sweatguards. I can't recommend any of them for audiophile quality but since gym is a workout, I demand that my earphones don't drop and has the bass department thumping!
  15. Ramiesh<< haha This is the problem with texted messages. You can't really tell who is feeling what. lol. I am not the least upset in anyway by Mackie's signature straight forward comment lah. I really appreciate his advices! Also I'm here to learn and not to take an egotrip. No need to get stress over our hobby yea?
  16. But seriously, I do miss the local atmosphere of the chaotic singaporean and the supper clubs. You don't know the pain of living abroad. lol I believe CDs in singapore now still go for ard SGD$20.00? The japanese yen now is so weak it's probably the best time to do major shoppings for your cans! haha... I bought my Mika's cd at ard 3100yen which is no more than SGD$45.00. If from what I found out in my other CD pressing related thread makes sense, paying double the price for your favourite CDs, YEA! Yup, ignorance is bliss I totally agree. But it's so darn difficult avoiding everything you'll eventually read in "those" forums. lol.
  17. Yeps, "hitori" (meaning one person) is one darn good singles cd. Definitely a keeper! David Watt<< erm, perhaps you didn't read my other thread on CDs. I think get the Japanese press lah. lol. But I am sure HMV has the Jap presses.
  18. Happy Belated Birthday too! More toys for you this year!
  19. Happy New Year and how old is SGHeadphones already?
  20. Hello guys and Happy New Year! I think this thread is rather interesting cos I know there will be lots of different responses. I didn't know that presses of different countries have that great a difference. Let's not talk China and Japan presses but Malaysia, Singapore, States...on so on?? That is pretty good to learn. Also I know someone's gonna go for my weak source. I know that I am using a PCDP but I really can't commit to too many large equipment because it's not like I have a permanent home in Singapore. It's a nightmare moving house a few times in a year. As minimal as I can. I do agree that a dedicated home CDP might prove me wrong easily and I seriously will not be any surprised. But until then, my story now goes to what I am using. I will look out for the black cds as recommended and give them another showdown. Lekguan<< I deliberately used the Etys to do this comparison because of the detail that I can get out of those buds. I really thought that they were most transparent for a earphone and very revealing too. Could you re-advice me on your statement? Mackie<<Don't say appluad me lah. You make me sound silly also. I just happen to be free and want to find out how different they can get. Not seeking any truths like mulder lah. I guess there I can never say how the cds differ cos I got no "good" reference systems. If based on what I have and am using now, perhaps it's safe to say that they make no difference on this level of setup of mine unless I get myself a reference system and prove me wrong? On a different note, isn't there a point where people are no longer enjoying the music but simply battling to nitpick the differences with their music? Surely, there must be a point where enjoyment meets stress. I seriously don't know what is the percentage of head-fiers truly listening and enjoying music on their couches these days. Some of them just seem to be doing some stringent sonic tests and assessments in a laboratory based on what I read in Head-Fi Forums. On the other hand, I just love the excitement when a newbie gets hold of his sub $100 Grados or Shures and realises the "wow" factor. But this doesn't mean that I do not enjoy audiophile sound. I am actually glad to be a better connoisseur in audio that my other soccer crazy friends. lol. Rameish<<I certainly do not think it's psychological at all. It was just on a fun note that I mentioned PSY-FI. If so, I wouldn't be spending any money at all. I totally respect your opinion on this topic and will look over the points that everyone's brought up. I guess I need more time to do stringent tests. (I could finally hear the differences in cables. Boy, that certainly took me some time) Meanwhile I will attempt to get hold of different presses of the same CD/differnt makes of CD-Rs/different burning techniques and go further out to seek the "truth". lol. I must remember that this is fun and should never in anyway stressing. I really appreciate if more advice come along in this thread. Please talk more and again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  21. Ok, I've discovered a new term for this phenomenal effect with compliments to Head-Fi or Hi-Fi. It's called Psy-Fi. (I want to believe)
  22. WESTONE? You gotta be kidding me. They are no good. Avoid them!! okok, I'm just joking, but they are one of the few very reputable makers in canal earphones.
  23. Hi Guys, I did an AB test on Mika Nakashima's Best album using the Original CD Vs Burned CD Copy last night. (I blindfolded myself, mixed up both the CDs and then played them on the PCDP for AB testing) After 30mins of continuous and concentrated listening on the same part of the song on both the CDs(original & copied), I totally couldn't find a single difference or maybe I didn't know where to look. I even mistaken the Copied CD for the Original CD at one point. Mental differences Yes, Audible differences, No. I know that there are certain audible differences between say, Singapore and China Pressing CDs but so far, I couldn't hear any difference with my Original Vs Copied version. Anyone can kindly advice? Please note that this thread is not to encourage "copying" your best friend's CDs but rather I'm Backing-Up whatever CDs I bought. 24. Yes! Glad you liked them. It cetainly is staying inside my PCDP for a long time. 14 good tracks are better than 28 rubbish tracks right? lol
  25. yea, some do really crank their earbuds that loud. I guess it's nothing new then. Loud = earpain = neighbours complain.
