  1. Hi may i ask on average how much did each of you paid?
  2. oh dang. its till now i saw this post. no more slots i assume? interested to get one.
  3. Hi Faileas and stargazer. Thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely go down this weekend for a look! Hmmm, i guess i would just keep it and treat it as a display? So that many years down the road i can take it out and surprise myself again haha. Whats mroe, i rarely bought stuff online from overseas, let alone selling them so i dont know what are the hassles like.
  4. Oh man. I'm so tempted to sell my MD unit now, MZ-RH910, which i bought in impulse several years ago, but guess would not fetch much, so might as well just keep a piece of history. Anyway i just got a new toy from cash converter today too, the Sony D-465. Sound wise against my D-NE900 i dont really know how to describe and dont think there's too much difference but i like the sound better than the Panasonic. But then again, im just using a E888 earphones, still deciding what cans to buy after my SR60 died.
  5. The batteries i bought were from Unicell at SLS. Its on the 2nd floor. Heres the link for the exact add: http://www.unicell.com.sg/mainsite/index.p...ntactUs&size=12 I guess they make their own batteries and thankfully for them, i could fire up my D-NE900 again! Oh the batteries are purple in colour and costs $8.00 per stick. But one thing to note, maybe its just me though, from my memory i guess the original Sony ones lasts longer. Nevertheless its still work perfectly and im definitely going to buy more. Actually im not in a position to say which generation of PCDP sounds better because im always financially handicapped during my younger days and the only discman i owned would be my D-NE900. But thats also the reason why im in for this hunt ever since i read all the good things about the past. Till now, im very satisfied with my discman. Its built like a tank very solid. Sound is good too. Chose this over the D-NE10 as it has on-screen display. I could go on and on but yeah they dont make discman now, much alone a good one. The only discmans in Sony store now looks plasticky. Yeah i tried Mustafa 2 weeks ago and no luck. No discman at all in both buildings. SLS i guess i tried but dont have what i want. BUt will go down and sweep again in case i left any treasures out. Will definitely post any findings!
  6. Hi Audio Hub. Thanks for the reply and suggestion! But somehow i believe somewhere in Singapore there are still stock for them, just not in big known stores. Not for the D-EJ2000 tho cos thats a really old model. And if i get to find them, they are still brand new! haha. Ebay wise, i've never bought anything from there and i do not have a paypal account. Moreover, most are in 2nd hand condition which i cant get to inspect personally but the discman you provided there really do have a cheap price. Might consider going for it haha.
  7. Hi guys. Been years since i last posted here although I'm not much of a poster to start with. And its kinda quiet here now so hope there's people reading this. Anyway, few weeks ago i managed to revive my six-year-old Sony D-NE900 with a new gumstick battery and wow...I'm back to my first love and my Cowon D2 has been neglected since. So i started revisiting sites like here and head-fi to read up on PCDPs again to see what are the others that are good. I also kept a lookout in stores and trawl the net to see if anybody is still selling them. The best i got so far was when i passed by a shop near the market beside Queensway Shopping Centre and saw that they still have two of the D-NE900. I was so tempted because i would not know when mine would die out but i refrained cos i was looking for one which i had not owned but wished i had. And since not much people buy them now, i believe shops would give good discounts. Oh, i manage to snag a Panasonic SL-CT810 in CashConverter for just $25 and the condition's still great! But the problem is here. The one's I'm looking for are actually the D-EJ2000, D-NE10, D-NE20 and D-NE920. Yes i would love to own them all! So would anybody have the luck to sight them in any friendly neighbourhood electrical store? I would greatly appreciate any sightings. So far i tried Sim Lim, AMK and Mustafa but to no avail (the best i found was NW-HD5 but i dont wanna rely on SonicStage). Or if you have them and found no use for them anymore. Would you mind selling me yours? hehe.
  8. D2 user here too! I got the original crystal case straight from the distro. http://www.boonco.com/index.php?cPath=61. If you're working around town, just email them and they will even deliver to your workplace free!
  9. During my secondary school days i was very inspired and want to imitate Eminem so started dressing hip-hop and thinkin that a pair of headphones matches it. Went to courts and looked at those Sennheisers but didnt buy cos no money haha. Then 2 years later 2004, got the AT FC-5 from HMV which i thought was the coolest headphones i can buy. Wore it for a few months and saw alot of people having it too. Then saw in HWM about Grado SR60 and search in the net till i stumble into here. Immediately went and bought it once i had worked and earned the dough. Went on to bought Sharp MD33, Sony MDR888.
  10. Hi guys. I am trying my luck now in selling my what once was precious MD player. Below are the information i put it out in point form for better understanding of the unit. Date purchased: 12 February 2006 Purchased price: 1 X MD unit = S$335.00 + 5 X 1GB Hi-MD = S$60.00 Total = S$395.00 Other accessories included: 10 X Sony Neige 74min MD unopened, 2 X Sony Neige, 1 X Sony Neige (these 3 Neige are different year versions), 1 X TDK Musik Jack 74min Red. Cosmetic condition: 9/10 - No major scratches here. Very fine scratches visible only when you tilt to certain angle of the shiny surface. Technical condition: 10/10 - Works very well and has no reported faults till now. Packaging: Box is still in good condition along with the accessories. Original earphones, remote control, charger, MD link cable (dunno how to use) all not used before. Includes receipts, unfilled warranty, instruction manual and SonicStage 3.0 CD-Rom. Reason for selling: I first bought the MD because i thought it kinda looked cool 'cause of its old school method of inserting the MDs. But as soon as i bought it i was kinda let down by its lack of chinese character support. So just 2 weeks ago i went and bought a second hand Creative Zen Xtra 60GB (somehow i like big, bulky and old products ) and had loved it since. I've been to www.minidisc.org and audiotstation.com and found out that this model is being sought after now and it is out of production. I dunno whether people here will want it as the MD community here is very small. So for this sale it is targeted to those real MD enthusiasts who really know the product well. Sorry but i do not have pictures as i have no camera and do not have the time to take pics. Means of selling: I only do meetups as i'm not a seasoned seller online, dont know how to post items, i stay in camps mon to sats, and i also want the buyer to inspect the unit first. Willing to do transactions at buyer's convenience tho only at weekends. Selling price: For now, im asking for a price of S$280.00. Price is negotiable. Interested buyers please contact me at 81331231.

    Upgrade?

Ok finally i understand. Sorry guys
  12. Deinel

    Upgrade?

So SR-125 and above need a converter to plug into the player?
  13. Deinel

    Upgrade?

Wow, thanks for the very quick replies. I was referring to the 1/4" adapter. What is that and whats the use of it? So i assume that all Grados have the plug of the same size(im still noob)? What is the voice coil wire and the connecting cord?(very noob, forgive me) Cautiously, im hoping to get the SR-80, but im also contemplating skipping the ladder and go straight to the SR-225 or MS-1, if sounds clearly better than the SR-60 or SR-80 unamped. Yeah and i think one fine day i would go to Adelphi and audition Grados at MBD(got sofa to seat) and MS-1 at Jaben. No offence to Stereo but i paiseh to go there cos just monday i went with my girlfriend and looked around very long yet didnt bought anything haha.

    Upgrade?

Just 2 quick question. I own a Grado SR-60, and i use it with my MD unamped. Is the SR-80 good unamped? And also, which is better? SR-80 or MS-1? Also, can the SR-125 and SR-225 plug in portables? Will they in unamped conditions sound worse/same/better than the SR-60 and SR-80?
  15. i wanted to ask too..they look cute haha
