mirage : It looks the same ... but the model number is abit different leh ... iPod ones are MK4004GAH ... maybe the 6 behind stands for 60GB ?

If your're using a more powerful CDP line out, the lower gain one might be more suitable. But I think you're pairing it with a portable player rite? So I think normal gain will work well. I posted some notes on the normal gain set in my impressions. You can guage approx how much vol you need to turn. But our listening vol levels are different, so use it as a guide only.
