  1. Hi Guys, does anybody knows how to contact DemonicAngelz? I have a feeling he's avoiding my PM that I sent a few days ago. Funny thing is that he logged on yesterday.... DemonicAngelz, if you are reading this, there are 10 other people waiting for you in this grp buy. It'd be courteous to at least tell us when you will be paying
  2. Hi aaron, not too sure how POSB works, but my wife has managed to perform a transfer from her POSB a/c to my UOB a/c before. Here's the details again, just add the UOB a/c number that I PMed u. UOB bank code: 7375 branch code 001 If I'm not wrong, once u add a new a/c payee, there's password thing u need to key in or something.
  3. No prob bro, updated first post to reflect who has paid so far left this few guys only. 3. DemonicAngelz - 1 set - 18.35 4. aaron-xp - 1 set - 18.35 10. kahchun - 1 set - 18.35 Just to let you guys know, I might be handing over the files and material to Heady to get this thing done, Actually wanted to get it done this week and pass it to you guys this weekend but it looks like it's impossible now. Heady, you ok with this? If OK, I'll perform a fund transfer to your account once collection is complete.

  5. dunno man, i ordered last month and til now it didnt come, sent him a couple of mails but no response. So i raised a complaint via paypal than he responded saying he already shipped out the item but the good thing is that he refunded the money at the same time too. But seriously, more than half a month to ship an item via air from China is a bit too long right?
  6. hmm.... I'm interested, especially since my order for the soha pcb from assemblycraft screwed up...
  7. Guys, sorry I forgot to mention that I will be out of the country from 1 Nov-19 Nov. Do transfer the money asap so I can get it done and pass to you guys before that. If not, we'll have to wait til after 19 Nov to get the stuff done. I can meet up anywhere between Jurong East MRT - Tanah Merah MRT 1715-1830hrs, weekdays.
  8. thks shw24, btw guys, just in case the bank n branch code is as per below bank code: 7375 branch code 001 Reference from http://www.uobgroup.com/assets/pdfs/business/achcode.pdf
  9. sgheadphones DIY panels= SGD$18.35 AMB ready made alu panels = USD$40 or SGD$58.65 (ex shipping) If it's not ok, i dunno wat to say oredi...
  10. Finally got the acrylic but its not matt but at least it's black. Bought $4 worth of acrylic. Breakdown of cost will be as follow Laser etch: 18*13=234 Material = 4 Transport = self absorbed. Total costs = 238 Cost/set = 18.35 (round up to nearest 5cts) If everyone's alright with the price, kindly check PM and make the bank transfer to my a/c, thanks!
  11. nice job, iwegmail, wat machine was used for the engraving? laser or normal engraving?
  12. Alamak! I must be so blind to miss this post, called them up and they feedback they have what I want. I'll be going down later to check the place out. Thanks iewgmail! Now we can finally get things moving
  13. Update: will be going down to Yi kwang (recommended by iewgmail, thanks) called them and they feedback they have the matt acrylic I wanted. Will be collecting money soon once I work out the total cost of production and materials. Will PM you guys my a/c no once that's finalised.
  14. For the black acrylic, the words etched should be as white as the one on the clear panel. I'm really out of sources right now, so its either we settle for the clear coated acrylic which is easier to burn with less burn marks or the shiny black ones. The shop Nicholas recommended only carries clear coated(polished) acrylic. Black ones too expensive, no demand, that's why they don't bring it in. The mass order was in black, that's why I was asking everyone in the other forum if they are ok with shiny black or clear polished. Can't really move if everyone can't make a decision leh. Or should I just decide for everyone? I suspect that the desoldering wick that connected the battery terminals with one of the caps was the culprit. After reading thru the mini3 headwize forums, I can only guess what happened fried all the opamps and the rail splitter. Think AMB mentioned that if the TLE2426 is fried, there's no point doing the initial shorting checks. Well, from what i read, it really is fried cos it's measuring at 8v+ and I failed all the checks for shorts. Lucky thing the output short checks passed, no need to look into that. So, I'm gonna replace opa690, ad8397 and tle2426, give it a good scrub using heady's method and start over. BTW, for the battery, I find using sandpaper's much easier. Just place sandpaper on a flat surface, grab the battery and sand it down. Use 2 grades, one coarse for faster removal of materials and the finest one you can get to achieve a nice, smooth, flat surface . Should be able to get it done in 10 mins or less. Oh yah, eastgear has a 7 day warranty on their battery, not much but better than nothing.
  15. not really, haha! first time doing this stuff. I'll try cleaning it up tonight, best way to clean is to use alcohol, brush and cotton bud i suppose?
  16. Thanks iewgmail! Really appreciate it! my Mini3's dead, btw, when u did ur initial check, how was the reading on opa690 on pin 4 n 7, 4 n ground, 7 n ground? I'm getting shorts all over but no solder bridge... Would appreciate if anyone can advise. Faulty opamps?
  17. Hi all, I don't think I can find any matt black acrylic on the market on the moment. Are you guys ok with clear coated acrylic?
  18. Yah i agree with what both of you say, humans learn thru their mistakes, proven many times in history oredi. Anyway, I'm gonna read up on the headwize mini3 thread, maybe I can find clues on what's actually faulty thru there. I have a verly strong feeling it's gona be U3, TLE2426....
  19. tats probably me, I'm using arctic silver 5 for PCs, but the funny thing is that when i measured the resistance of the compound, it reads as 0 with the lowest resistance setting. I guess that shouldn't be it... Not too sure if I'm measuring the right way though, I dipped the probes into the compound itself. I suspect I probably shorted something while using a solder wick while sucking off too much solder on the battery contacts (with the battery still on , how forgetful can i get....) Solder wick connected itself with C4 or C8, and it sparked. The caps and opamp i guess should still be working though. What I suspect shorted out is the TLE chip since it did say it's the most easily shorted item on the board. Initial cheksI'm gonna desolder it and replace it with a new one, hope koba sells it though... This is from experience (might differ from case to case), if an opamp is really fried, it measures way less than its intended operational voltage. There was once i got curious in finding out how much resistance is there on an opamp (opa2132), while an amplifier was powered up, placed the probes on pin 4 n 8 and I started hearing crackling noises. Of course the amp didn't work after that. When it was working perfectly, it measures about 16v, after it fried, it measures about 1v plus.
  20. polish means matt i suppose?
  21. Thanks for the offer heady. I 'll pm u if i need help. Nicholas, thanks for checking that for us. I'll be sourcing around for coated acrylic and head down to ur place soon.
  22. Good news for you guys! Panels fits perfectly Bad news for me, i think i fried my opamps.
  23. Thanks for ur understanding guys, really appreciate it
  24. Actually we were talking abt that earlier on. Tell you what, I'll try and find a way to simulate this idea and post some pics online with my maglite. LED's not soldered on yet as I need the panel as a gauge to find out how high above the PCB it should be. The phone protector idea is good. I saw some plastic stickons (probably 1mm thick or less) that you can use to cut out the shape you want and stick it on. But I'm gonna go ahead with coated acrylic to save the trouble. This side project's been taking up quite a bit of my time. Hope you guys understand!
  25. Nice job Nicholas!! Now we are really on to something good! Thanks for the tip on coated acrylic. Gonna head on down to rowell to check, hope they open on Saturdays though... BTW, I won't be able to meet you up today to collect the samples, but I'll be bringing down my kit to test the sample you made once I get the materials for laser etching. Think I'll have to settle for shiny black if I can't find matt black.... For the overseas guys who PMed me, sorry that you're not able to join this group buy. Tell you what, I'll upload the file (without the sgheadphones logo) used for laser etching once I'm sure that it works. Just download it and look for local shops who provides the same type of service as Nicholaslee. It should be cheaper since no shipping is required.
