yup confirmed by my fren just now we compared 3 different tubes the cleartop being the clear winner worst is, u know which one la seems like all RCA has microphonic problem... but yeah, you shouldnt tap ur tube anyway

hmm how long a proper burn-in for DT880 should be? then after that let's have a side by side comparison? jack is from LHS cat5e has 4 pairs of wires inside. already twisted see here: http://www.lanshack.com/make-cat5e.aspx and here: http://pinouts.ru/data/Ethernet100BaseT4_pinout.shtml the pairs are utilized in such that the + part of the signal uses the wire that is twisted with another wire that is connected to the - part of the signal this will introduce more resistance towards interference I'd say but as in why I did that for my headphones, well, more like errmm habit? headphones cables should not have problem with interference, the fact being most runs are at 3m.

why do u have to use that chip? some others are available too IMO, by listening to PA2V2 (using LM4881), I found it dark sounding too dark... despite the "rave" reviews regarding that amp

have u tied the output jack's ground to earth? mine had similar problem, too. it disappeared when I touched the output jack's ground. hence, I tied the output jack's body to the earth. it doesnt matter how long wire it takes to do that. just tie properly should solve ur problem this problem is not due to the amp. more likely due to ur source

wait... only when you touch u get the whee-ing sound? if so, then it's normal ur body intro interference to the signal, before amplification, and the interference will get magnified too that's why when u touch the output wire, no significant effect
