  1. What's the Xmas promo price??
  2. Think you bad luck ... I've had my UM2 for 3 years now, no problems at all. My friend has had two Shures die on him before recently switching over to the UM2.
  3. I don't think it's that bad for something that is part of the iPod family.
  4. I don't have much use for cans to be honest as most of my listening are done on the go. I've been looking for a pair of comfy cans for the office for a long long time liao, but haven't really settled on any either.
  5. No choice also ... take so long to come out. I've been using UM2 for ever liao, waiting and waiting for the Westone 3 'cos nothing else I want to upgrade to. At least those of you who started off with UM1 can still go for UM2 now
  6. But with this kind of delay, I'll begin to worry about the quality of the product
  7. But what makes you think they know more than a professional audiologist? The only thing I would consider is that unless Westone uses a different material in making the custom tips so the sound might be different. But the creation process should be the same.
  8. That sounds like a viable option, thanks! Did you have to leave your IEM with them?
  9. Cool. Out of curiosity, did you enquire if the audiologist can produce the custom eartips? I read on head-fi some guy in Australia went to an audiologist to get his earmold and ended up letting the audiologist make the tip. Apparently it's a 'standard procedure' for some people who use hearing aids. And a much cheaper option too. Can give us the name of the audiologist that you visited? Cheers
  10. Shark, where did you get your earmolds done, Jaben? How much did they cost you? For some odd reason, the recent pair of tri-flanges I got are softening up too quickly, don't have high hopes. Might seriously look into getting customs soon. Cheers
  11. Wah, that's quite an expensive interim solution. I'm still contemplating getting a custom earmold to 'upgrade' my um2 while waiting for the westone 3, but never considered an amp 'cos of the extra weight and bulk. Plus I've read repeatedly that an amped um2 only gains a marginal improvement.
  12. Yeah I think so too, but even the SR80's bass is not enough for me , so
