  1. Anything special in the workflow?
  2. I like the moody effect. Was it post processed? I don't see your name in the guestbook!
  3. Yes the whole album is pretty good. I didn't know they were the flavour of the moment in the charts, although I'm not surprised, they were a recommendation from a friend who mentioned that their music is my sort of taste.
  4. Peterpan - Bintang di surga Indonesian rock band. I prefer their moodier sound compared with the more up-beat flavour of Sheila on 7.
  5. Actually I notice your shots (& mine) mostly are underexposed most of the time. Good for detail but not to my taste. What I'm trying look for is to get a more natural look without looking flat (i.e. default setting). I don't mind doing post processing on PS as fine tuning or for adding final effects however not major work.
  6. Unfortunately Rameish, changing the WB to 'fluorescent' on the D70 doesn't make it any better in fact the blue/green cast is even worse than 'auto' mode. Using WB on' flash' mode gives a warmer cast but since I can change that in PS (as I'm using RAW files all the time) I don't bother adjusting the WB individually since I can change that anyway. I think I'm just plain lazy to do all the WB pre-shoot. Will give it a go next time. In this case, it could be as you've mentioned, the flash was not firing at full power since I haven't used it for nearly a week. Thanks for the link.
  7. I'm beginning to get tired of looking at the D70's underexposed characteristics, maybe it's time to try changing the default curve.
  8. Good suggestion. Which particular photo has the blue cast, all? The shot of the Speedlight was w/o flash under fluorescent lighting & not at my usual area. The flash's rechargeables were partially discharged at the time. I don't quite understand the last part of your sentence in the 1st paragraph.
  9. Although characteristically not the same sound, the emphasis is on the midrange part of the sound & presents the sound in a more airier fashion. Personally I found the bass lacking in impact (probably they didn't fit me properly). It would suit most of the music styles you mentioned except heavymetal. Your mileage may vary as my taste tend to be a slightly different from others here. At over moderate volume, sound leakage will occur. Say if you're in a library, people will notice it.
  10. What sort of sound are you looking for, are you looking for something similar to the E888? If so then the EW9 would be a good choice.
  11. I can't remember the exact price as I didn't keep the receipt. 8R is about the same price as yours but 12X16 was quite expensive. I'll get back to you on that.
  12. Plenty of times, mostly from a pro photo lab & on 4R. I've made a few 8"x10" & 12"x16" of my highest resolution Jpegs & they look great.
  13. Perspective, long way back home from work/shopping.
  14. Test shots of the Speedlight firing directly forward using Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D (No post processing done except for resizing in PS CS) Without DIY Diffuser: With DIY diffuser: 1st shot (~1 meter distance) - The one with the diffuser gives a less harsh/harder looking light. 2nd shot (~2m distance) - The one with diffuser produces a nicer/richer & natural skin tone. Exposure also not typically under exposed. 3rd shot (~5m distance) - Not as obvious but there is a discernable difference. Colour looks slightly richer with the diffuser (see the red file folder on the left) I'll keep this piece of cloth handy in my camera bag for situations when I can't bounce the speedlight.
  15. Made myself a DIY diffuser dome for my Speedlight SB800 that won't get affected by the 'limiter' switch when using the supplied dome: Started with a 4"x8" piece of white cotton cloth: I actually wanted to just use a rubber band to secure it on the flash head but since I couldn't find one at the time I temporarily used a gaffer tape to hold it in place: The extra bit of fabric which extends to the back can be folded over the flash head to increase the thickness of the material to diffuse the light even further if so required. A few test shots to follow...
  16. At the end of the tax year the tax office sent an inspector to audit the books of a Synagogue. While he was checking the books he turned to the Rabbi and said, "I notice you buy a lot of candles. What do you do with the drippings? Good question, noted the Rabbi. "We save them up and send them back to the candle makers, and every now and then they send us a free box of candles". "Oh", replies the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer. But he went on in his obnoxious way and said, "what about all these Matzo purchases? What do you do with the crumbs?" "Ah yes... "replied the Rabbi, realising the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question. "we collect them up and send them back to the manufacturers, and every now and again they send us a free box of matzo balls" "I see... " said the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster this "know it all" Rabbi, "... well Rabbi," he went on, "What do you do with all the left-over foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?" "Here too, we do not waste", replied the Rabbi "What we do is save them all up and send them to the Tax office, and about once a year they send us a complete D!ck!"
  17. I did that once as test shots, deleted them immediately after I downloaded them! No disrespect to Tropicalrips of course, I was just kidding. Keep the photos coming dude!
  18. You seriously need to look into joining a photoshoot if you're starting to take snaps of plumbing!
  19. So you guys didn't feel a thing last night? Heard so much about in the news today. Hope everything is ok.
  20. Out of curiosity, does TTL functions when using 3rd party lenses? Have you tried using your speedlight with the Sigma & Tamron lenses?
  21. Hey... if you're not happy with it, I'll gladly take it off your hands!
  22. Your welcome dude. You might want to resize your image to 800x600 so it'll fit nicely into the forum pages & faster to download.

    I love cars man

Shots taken last sunday. It was raining most of the time so when I went there the turnout was not that great (I wasn't really interested in the ICE stuff). I had a window of opportunity of less than 30mins before it started to get real dark again (RX8 was my last shots so you can see for yourself) & rained soon after I left the venue. Anyway, I did manage to take some decent shots, my fav is the modified Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior which was tricked out to look like a GTA. Kudos to the guys (& gals!) that stayed around for the public to view their cool rides. Enjoy the pics
