  1. Might be getting a pair for my bro when my prog.package come in, which is soon Will compare with other budget based canalphones Hopefully this will really touch on the 0 Bass issue of the CK5, and make it sound less muddier as well becauseif they did, AT might have a little gem down here
  2. If your mini is the 2nd generation of minis, then it'll probably sound more balanced. The 1st generation of iPod minis have such a severe bass rolloff its not even funny. The 2nd gen Minis have the rolloff cut down to the 3G iPod's standards. Still audible but not as bad. The UM1 wouldn't synch too well with either minis however, since its of low impedance, unless you decide to use its lineout and attatch an amplifier to it to power your UM1, then we're talking sound quality, I think. Pros please correct me =)

    Shure E2

If you clean your ears every day, I don't think you'll need to worry so much.

Yes, dynamic drivers need to be burnt in. So far, the only kinds of burn in that take place in armature drivers are mental burn-in, and supposedly cable burn-in (better current flow, supposedly) which I'm a bit skeptical of.

    E500

Need to know the triple X pricing as well. E500 is about confirmed at US$499, and the pricing for the rest of the Shure line, mainly e5, should drop when E500 is out

    E500

    Who might that someone be?
  7. With all those headphones you own, I a bit afraid to go down, later in the future wallet burn
  8. xllms: UM1 is single balanced armature type, no burn-in required, only mental burn-in necessary Welcome to the boards BTW.
  9. Razer, one question to ask. How does it compare to the SA5k?

    Shure E2

That sonds cheem, but it explains the similarities I got the UM1 and E1 info jumbled up XP

    Shure E2

If I remember right, the UM1 was based-off the Shure E1 design since Westone was the one which manufactured Shure IEMs in the past, and the UM2 and E5 are essentially the same IEM BUT the E5 has an insane impedance of 110Ohms.
  12. Unfortunately, people who would say that to us don't know what the're missing... Unless they're wearing something like the Qualia 010 or K1000 on the streets ... Though honestly, I drool at the sight of the Qualias
  13. That... happened before... Mainly to the users of the Shure e2, Westone UM1, Westone UM2 and custom fit built IEM owner over at head-fi *lol*
  14. @ Stereo I can loan the CK7 but not all the time lah, my number of tips limited leh *lol* Must think hygene With regards to wearing over the ears, I find it much cooler looking, not forgetting that you somehow stand out from the rest of the crowd *lol* No problems with comfort too, and it eliminates much of the dreaded wire microphonics. The Westone, UE and Shure line of IEMs all do this =)
  15. Custom build! =D The AT-HA20 looks very nice, kinda arty IMO
  16. The come with their own form of casing, so they can be stored away when not in use. My suggestion is for you to audition them over at either Jaben Networks or Stereo Electronics first, then decide. For CK7, you might have to ask someone who owns it to loan it to you for audition.
  17. UM1 and CK7 are in the same class. If you prefer the UM1, I suggest you skip it altogether and head for the UM2 *peace*
  18. Heady, I can act as delivery guy and send the parts to Squall if need be =)
  19. The answer: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=36...=microsoft+ipod
  20. Musicality = UM1 Analyticality = CK7 Normally, people will like UM1 better.
  21. Ultimate Ears SuperFi series bi-flange.
  22. The ER6i can be had for $179 if you scout the net. Rather than stick to the old ones, why not climb up the ladder? There's the Shure e4, UE SuperFi 5 Pro or the Etymotic ER4p/s that you can consider. Just for out a bit more cash lahz =)
  23. Nope, almost none of us, but word from head-fi has it that the Sennheiser CX300 outperforms in in almost every way.
  24. Timo, where you live? I can probably search for ya to do a 1 to 1 comparison between the CK7 and CX300. Hmm, anyone with an RP-HJE70 can come along?
  25. Great, now to find a way to drag you out for an audio meet! >=)
