well... i currenly unplug the headphones... but cos i do it on a daily basis... it wont be good for both my AVR and the headphone jack right? from past exp i spoilt my soundcard headphone jack that way... after a few mths no sound or only from 1 side... i dont know how to make my own either lol

hmm... here's my problem... i am using a Yamaha AVR... everyday i use speakers and at night i use headphones... but seems like there is no way i can leave the headphones plugged into the AVR and change the sound output to the speakers... thus i was told to get a headphone amp. as i'm pretty much broke now... how much would the cheapest headphone amp cost? and where to get it?

can i bring to some shop in SLS or SLT ask them to change the cable for me? is SLT open on sundays anyway?

I've a pair of HD497 and due to constant dropping and tugging over the years i think the wire lose liao... so must twist and turn the wire at certain angles then got sound... i think it may require some rewiring or resoldering... where can i get this done and roughly how much will it cost?

how do i get the best audio and visual settings out of windvd? i'm using a hercules gtxp with klipsch promedia 4.1 and radeon 7500 currently my settings are... under audio... analog output, 4 channel, remember volume setting, audio renderer auto, audio control audio booster the rest are unchecked under video... use hardware decode acceleration and use hardware color acceleration are checked. and also... when watching LOTR... under sound settings.. should i use stereo surround? or DD es 5.1 or DTS es 6.1?
