  1. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow Duet video......... I swear them are Beyerdynamics DT150's around and over their heads
  2. Got lucky with the D-777 hunt arr? Enjoy the day........
  3. Yes Absolute Sound is still the Roksan representative in S'pore and Malaysia. Sam, can you let me know how much the AT-OC9 when you fnd out later? Thanks! I will post the picture of my Xerxes later this evening. Hopefully
  4. That will be great! I look forward to it. Mackie, to answer your Roksan question in the other thread. The entry level Roksan record player is the Radius, and over the years has evolved to its fifth revision in the form of the Radius 5. The Xerxes was their first record player IIRC, and that was subsequently replaced by the Xerxes X which cured the sagging top plinth issues with the original Xerxes. And their Flagship is the TMS.
  5. Hey Sam, I started a new thread lets discuss the vinyl stuff there Cheers! Oh and save me a heinie when I get to S'pore
  6. It seems there is a small following of vinyl users in this forum. Care to share your experience new and old? You are more than welcomed to post your Record player plus pictures too! I myself is in the proccess of revisiting and rediscovering Vinyl replay after having abandoning it for the last 8 years or so. And am very excited to say the least. Up on the spotlight is my ageing Roksan Xerxes (soon to be sold off) and Linn sondek LP12. Will eventually upgrade the LP12 to current specs and at the moment looking around for a suitable Moving Coil cartridge. I'm open to discusions.............
  7. Ah AT-OC9 yes it is great buy assuming the price is good and everything is in good working order. I'm beging to sound like phono cartridges have a sell by date How much are they BTW?
  8. For US$225 it does seem like a good deal just under SG$400, I'm seriously thinking of getting one. Yeah the Sondek is not mine yet . Now where is that drink?
  9. If this helps heres the trailer page Actually premier is today, y'day was the sneak viewing over here (which I sadly turned down )
  10. Sam, it just premiered y'day world wide
  11. The Blonde beer yes. The Blondes no. Eh ! Blonde Blondes, don't know what came over me. I hope it doesn't qualify for the blonde jokes thread. Mackie, did you try them on your setup? LP12 owners seems to rave about these even in the UK. Juicy fruit like, How much are they going for in S'pore??
  12. My only gears that gets switched off are the portables ones (because they tend to run out of batteries ) Otherwise my other electronics never gets turned off unless there is a power cut. As for the headphones I usually warm them up for around 30 minutes or so and I'm set for a session. Edit=daughters heavy hand bangging on the keyboard
  13. That is why warm up is essential before serious listening IMHO, then again YMMV
  14. Rameish, I'll try source some purpose made Hoegaarden glasses. I miss them Belgian blondes bier, I take it they are easy to obtain in S'pore.
  15. Or maybe go for a two box design i.e. Seperate the amp from the power supply. Not Unlike the Headline which you guys modded a couple of months back. I heard the Headline some years ago with the NAPSC and the higher spec'd HiCap and the difference was day and night. The noise floor with the HiCap appears to have vanished leaving the Headline to proccess the source signal in a clean environment, so to say. And the Gilmore V1 and V2 designs are centered around a dedicated power supply albeit housed in one box, this is one voodoo that has to me been proven to reap alot of sonic benefits. Barradio's Headline/NAPSC combo in the last meet does give the Gilmores some lessons it should learn from IMHO. I remembered when Headamp (antness) could not finalise the power supply issues with the recent power buy of the Gilmore Lite, was enough to make me not commit. And yes I'm a believer of a seperate power supply and it's a good concept too, what say everybody?
  16. Rameish, the heogaarden. Did it come with its own glass? You'd have to have three of them at least for Ben and me. Eh! Before I forget, have you heard the Denon DL 103 cartridge that is all the rage right now?
  17. Blues Guy, my headphones gears budget is depleting as we speak, due my new found intusiasm into vinyl. A drink now would be good See how it goes la
  18. I'll be happy too, makes it worth the trip really. And if hoegaarden and tsing tao is served I'll be on the next plane over. Seriously though I'm in a dilemma as to whether to get the CD3k or the HD650. And the HD650 is still a little stiff for my wallet. So is the CD3k for that matter, hmmm decisions decisions......
  19. Ben, I'm cutting down on the drinks but will see if I can manage. I sure miss the chit chat at Rameish's pad, very homely. And having Firefox tinkering in the background, I really enjoyed that. At the moment I'm in the middle of ressurecting my vinyl replay gears, should be online by early next year. I tell you, doing up the turntables are a pain if you're not handy and lack of special tools. What are you up to nowadays anyway Benny?
  20. Nope I don't mind at all, just that it seems to be a tradition over here Rameish, already know I'm very very much interested in the HD650 and I'd like to hear it first hand before I commit. I just don't want to make the same mistake of not getting the HD600 before when I should have. Ben, yeah I'll take you up on the chit chat mini meet thing, I'm sure. Rameish, a couple o' pints Try a couple of kegs
  21. Ben, I may not get them until I have heard them, I'm afraid. And I hope I can make it to the next meet Take care mate.
  22. And she has now a talk show ala 'Oprah' on channel RIA (Astro). Not Bad if I may say so.......
  23. IMO all audio replay equipment benefits from burn in and also warming up aspecially the transducers or/and anything mechanical. It somehow sounds better and listenable. When using my Mint amp I usually power it on around for 30 minutes before i start listening through it, that is why I never vpower down any of my static (stationary) listening gears. Just my 2¢
  24. Anybody heard of Anita Sarawak? She had it ok in the States and had her own show in Ceasers Palace in Las Vegas, until about 3-4years ago IIRC
