  2. yO`,can i have this polo t too? I would wan a L size. =) Any nick imprint on the tshirt,btw?
  3. Yeah,I took out all the tubes and cleaned it already. A couple of times in fact. But the buzzing sound still there leh.... Its not really loud till very audible, but in a quiet room at night,it is obvious its there.
  4. Hehe,yeah... It sounds really kua zhang to spend so much for a tube. But I would say its because of the age of this tube plus the quality of cos. I got one of this tube too and I would say its quite justifiable for the money. The results is good. I hear more details.Quite a lot of difference I would say from the stock tube.
  5. In regards to the previous post about buzzing/static kind of sound from my 708B in previous thread : Quoted by zer061zer0 : "Whats ur source..? The last time i uses the ibook i also got the same problem.. i heard a buzz sound, when i remove the 6n1, replace it and it should be gone. With my cdp as a source i don get the noise anymore, sometime got soft hiss for a while but only detectable by my "SCope" , my gf. she seems to have more sensitive ears to detect very slight noise and was able to pin point it.. " Hi,my source is my xbox as cd player. Weird as it might sound, but sound quality is quite ok to me. haha... of cos will get a better one when i got money. =) The buzzing sound I'm afraid is not cause by the inputs. I 80% sure it comes from the power supply section.
  6. ooh,so u hear the buzzing sound from the left ear too? Actually,I just noticed that, even when i replaced the 6n1,the buzz is still there. Though its much softer, but its still there. I heard it now,(1.08am).I off my fan, everything and press the left sidie near to my ear... and there it is... that static, noise kind of sound. Can somebody help me clear this noisy thing? Its not obvious, but its there. And I dun wan it to be there. =(
  7. Hi guys, another thing to share. As mentioned in headfi thread about the 6N1 tube that its just there for show, right?I did take it out to experiment. True enough, the amp is still working fine. With nothing bad going on.No effect on the operation. However,I noticed a soft buzzing, static sound coming out from my left headphone. I thought it came from the tubes,so I removed and reinstalled it. But the buzzing sounds continue. To further isolate the problem,I turn up the volume and off. To my surprise, the volume of the static/buzzing sounds doesn't goes up nor go down when i turn the volume knob. The buzzing sound is still there when i turn down the volume knob. Then I suspect the 6n1 that i removed. So i installed it back and true enough, the buzzing/static sound is gone. Thus,I conclude that the power supply link to the 6n1 is causing the static/buzzing sound. Next thing that I wanna do is still,to remove it. But,this time,I'm thinking of either shield it or just cut the wires link to the 6n1. Which method will be better? Can some experts pls advise me??
  8. Yeah... but if the tubes are really so good,i wun mind paying a few more bucks to get it here man. hehe..
  9. haha.... no worries,no soldering need for beginners. I din change and capacitors or any circuitry either. Just buy some tubes and have fun! If u searched around ebay, theres lots of GEMs tubes out there....
  10. WAH! serious? so cheap? most of us i think bought at much higher price than this. Well,I did. And I like this amp alot. Lots of potential. Lots of mods to play around. Great amp. Check with the seller more about the amp before biding. =) BUy buy buy! Join us,the 708B gang. Hahaha...
  11. Hi! Well,I do connet my IMAC to my headphone before. Basically I seldom listen straight from the cd in the mac becos I feel that its very much louder than i listen in mp3 formats. Thus,I hear more noise and I dun really like it.I normally reipped it into my itunes to be transfered into my ipod. =) However, back to wat u are saying.... For me,I dun experience the singer being behind the instruments competing with the music etc. The differences between my mac and my xbox cd player are the extra details of the instruments and the whole song, and the enlarged soundstage.Lastly, the volume is higher from the xbox cd player than my mac too. =)
  12. eh,i would say depends on wat u wan to hear most? Quality of sound or the details? 6922 will affect stuffs like soundstage, different "flavours" of sounds. 6n3 will affect stuffs like gain.. therefore.. more details if higher gain? not to mention higher noise level too. =) Well, above are wat i observed when i changed the tubes. =)
  13. Dun know leh... got to try loh.. I feel like trying a pair of mullards.. hehe
  14. yeah,I will go try change to a better power cord too. =) BTW,share with u guys that i encounter.... I was hooking up my xbox to make it as my cd player and after hooking it up,I noticed theres a loud humming noise. Surprisingly when i touch the interconnects that goes into the 708B,the noise disappear. So i connected some wires and short it to ground and now the noise is gone for good. Hehe....
  15. My 708B is currently fitted with the Siemens tubes and WE 2c51. =) Happy combi, but still not very satisfied. I wan more!! Haha...
