Hey guys, I'm not too sure if there's such a thread already started but anyways I was just thinking: What do you think is the MP3 player around at the moment and why? I would love your critique based on: sound quality (top priority) battery life lcd screen quality (bright colours or just backlit etc) build quality (solid? or fragile) memory type (flash or hard disk) asthetics (design ergonomics... looks) features (other than music) others (if you can think of any heh) Honestly, I feel there's no such thing as a "best" mp3 player, but there's sure to be one that you think is really GOOD. Lets get out of the box and not just restrict ourselves to iPods I'm hoping that this thread will help me as well as others to find the RIGHT player This is a friendly thread based on individual opinions, please restrain from flamming each other haha... and like I said there is no "best" especially when new mp3 players are being released almost every month haha... so just speak your views on what you think is the RIGHT ONE / "Best" for your ears. I just got my Creative Zen V 2Gb I like it. I think don't bother with the V plus unless you want the FM radio feature, the video feature is cool but the screen is soooo small! Sound Quality is not as good as the iPod, my previous shuffle sounded better. I think I'm still on a search for THE mp3 player. :S I prefer flash based ones compared to hard disk based players

as a um1 user, i find that sometimes the bass is so strong that it covers the treble abit. making the song abit muffled sounding. i like the warm sounding um1 tho... oh well... its personal preference at the end of the day. the sr60's are fine to me... but i already got the ms2 so there's no turning back. hahaha.... try the grados vs alessandros.... you might end up with a ms1.

hi there! welcome, i'm not expert as well but i hope this'll help. the Grados are open back design. if you ask ur friend to put them on and blast some music you'll be able to hear it from the outside. and it doesn't provide isolation so external noise gets in the way of your music. a close back design would be more suitable for outdoor use. or a IEM. hope this helps. oh and the sr60 sounds good to me. try before you buy!

i always put the cables behind my shoulder / back. i feel it doesn't "pull" so much when you do that. i don't think you really need to put it thru ur shirt hehe. i've never tried that.

hehehe, i bought the case already. they snap together (not hinged and comes off completely on both sides) and is surprisingly more sturdy than it looks. its much more compact than the westone deluxe case. -off topic- unless you plan to go hiking or the sahara, get this case. its more "friendly" looking than the westone case which seems to be a bomb shelter for earphones, if i'm not wrong its like "crush" resistant and water resistant. i've seen the westone case and its really tough! its priced around sg$50 if i'm not wrong. if there's another one on sale i suggest you take a look at it cool stuff if you haven't got a casing for your earphones.
