yup creative's SQ is definitely better than ipods. but i gotta agree that its quite bassy. for a basshead like me, its very enjoyable. iriver's not bad too. on par with creative if not better. iaudio seems good too. look around, better still go test and see which one is more pleasing to ur ears.

i was a user of e2c. yes i love the bass. but then again, once i tried the superfi 5eb. e2c is no where near. sound quality is so much more better. and the bass is fantastic. go try auditioning one, u'll understand. i listen mainly to rock.

why not consider a clip on in-ear ear buds? u get ur clip-on style that u wan. and u get isolation. yeah basically i think in-ear are the best for music listening. i think sony and philips have models like that.
