hi Razor, I took these pics @Stereo with RS-1's box. I heard Grado still ship GS1k same type of boxes, probably a tad deeper.

hi all I accidentally auditioned GS1000 just now. Was told this pair of cans are just in and already almost sold out. All I can say is that GS1k is in a league of its own. Makes me forget about RS-1. Toggled between AKG 701, RS-1 and even W5000. Yes, it is especially good with classical. Sounds so live like in concert hall. So open and strings resonate with strong vibrations. Gone are the signature aggressive attack of drums in rock and pop. Drums sound more refined but with still same levels of PRAT. Some how even RS1 sounds a tad bright and aggressive compared with GS1k. Of course, GS1k feels so comfy with their D-size cups! Some interesting pics: Finally I compared Gs1k with W5000. As all may know, W5000 is a great sounding closed cans that sounds open... BUT for the first time, W5000 sounds closed and a tad muddy even from the first note been played. Alamak, what happened? When I plugged back GS1k, I'm back in audio nirvana. So.. you must have this burning question in mind: Did I part with my pennies to get GS1k? Hmmm all I can say is GS1000 draws me deep deep into music. I feel very fustrated when I returned to listen to my music again with my setup...

hi My DIY RA-1 is sold to a nice gentleman. Learn a lot from this veteran. I am only willing to part with my HF-1 (#312 of 400) to an appreciative Grado Fan. It comes with full box, complete with John Grado's signature. It is mint in condition. This is one of many Grado special edition, where it is no longer in production. Only 400 are made for Head-Fi forumers. Sonic signature: Grado signature but sounds warm, less fatigue & less bright. Price: SGD500.00 firm. hi friends After upgrading my phones and getting a headamp, I've no choice but almost forced to change my portable source. I am using an ancient Creative Muvo FM 5GB player. It does not have line out option and SQ is not desirable. Not sure if this dilemma has been discussed extensively here. I wanted a better if not best source as portable media. I know PCDP offers best quality and generally relatively cheaper but it is not as portable. DMP is more convenient and offers great storage but is expensive and need to take care of encoding quality. I am sure most has went through this. Perhaps can share how you arrive at your desired source? cheerios

Yes. Since you are using Xiangsheng at home, perhaps you could source for a good CDP. There are so many to choose from

hi all I am quite sure that I am mad. Been carrying quietly - my RA1 in my haversack, Audioquest mini-1 cable (RCA - 3.5" jack) and HF-1 for the past few days. http://www.audioquest.com/ Just I am curious, what other SGH members are using with their portable amp & headphones?

I just tried my super combo this late evening: DIY RA-1 with HF-1, while riding in MRT. ( I am one lucky guy when I managed to persuade a nice forumer from here to let go of his prized HF-1 .. ) It was quite packed at around 2230hrs... Funny, I din get weird stares. One thing I realised about HF-1, I can restraint myself from cranking up volume on RA1 higher... somehow I can enjoy my music, without going overboard with loudness.

hi all I'm getting crazy and bolder. I have sold away my UM2, to make way for bigger phones like AT-W1000 or Grado 325i to be used on the go. I am getting DIY RA1 headphone amp. Think I am getting mad Anyone as crazy as me? I am getting how people will respond when they see a walking Gundam in MRT cabin.
