  1. which is good because ur batt life will extend slightly! By the way skysurf, thanks for reaffirming how i felt towayds the um2. Simply put it in this way, not cost effective. haha...
  2. as zephyron has said, i think it's likely a defective build. Maybe you want to evaluate how u use ur earphones? Like how rough u handle it, or how u keep the cables tidy or stuff like that?
  3. Haha.. its to protect the cable ma.. Anyhows, it'll be really cool if someone comes up with some sorta removable protection for cables. With colours of cos. What tips are good man? u changing to shure's ones? I really liked the seal the grey tips i bought from aaron.
  4. seriously speaking i cant forget how the sf5pro sounded like. It was perfect for me. But i really hated the design and comfort level was like sheeet! If only it looked like um1. Comfirm hoot. Looks like im not the only one who does not appreciate the um2. koljaho hehe what a small small world. =) the e4g will try again 6 months down the road. But i tried the e3c compared with aurvana, both was almost on par but shure edged out that bit. BTW joiful, the cable can do sleeving meh? What do u mean by sleeving? enlighten me man.
  5. urgh. wished i felt the same way as you did. i like bass. and somehow um2 and um1 felt like worlds apart to me. and um1 sounded much too forward for my liking too. throw in the nice low profile and comfort level (compared to the UE i had), and there i was sold on the um2 =/ Hey bro, im a bass lover. Im not used to the lack of bass from the ex-71 for the um1. But the um2 sounded not right at all. Maybe a few months down the road after using um1 a while i will like the um2. hehe... Joiful i wasnt influenced at all. When i went down today, one factor was the my damaged earphones pissing me off. I was looking to spend actually. haha.. didnt mind getting the um2 as 450 is still okay and within my buying power. Just a pity i didnt like it. But i really kept thinking about the sf5pro ley.
  6. Haha yes! the guy with the red hd3 is me!!! actually to be honest. There are very very limited pple with hd3 because of how much they took in. And I am the first, i swear to have bought this as i pre ordered before the launch when they invited me to test them out! And i was the only guy to have pre-ordered from wisma sony. HEhe.. ehh... love the UM-1. I tried the Um2 too.. Yes the sound quality improved over the um-1, but only marginally i felt. Probably it was my mp3 player as sony ones reproduce with a higher bass. Funny thing was i wasnt blown away by how the UM-2 sounded. Im not sure why either. The improvement wasnt worth the increase in price in my opinion. So the weak bass of UM1 sort of got compromised with the bass sony delivers and wala, i have the um-1 now. I must sincerely thanks aaron for his time and patience with us. Thanks bro, i'll definetely return with more buys! One more thing i would like to add. So far of the earphones i tested, the most impressive to me was the UE SF5pro. I enjoyed the good balance of bass and clarity. However i totally didnt like anything about its design. Extremely horrible and uncomfortable. Other than that i would have bought it instead. Joi ful i hope the decision to buy the um-1 today wasnt influenced too much by me. Haha u said you wanted to buy another day. Didnt expect to buy together in the end. I also didnt expect to buy today actually. Now my Ex-71 is thrown one corner, used for gaming instead. haha.
  7. haha really ah? eh thats bad of u to side. LAter stereo dont welcome u the next time. haha... hey joi-ful bro, want to meet up? I need to get a new pair of haedphones too. Drop me a pm man. Then we can go test out together and share some opinions.
  8. huh? SF is relatively cheaper? LIke how much is the SF5 pro? i thought it ranges around 250-300? BTW whats the diff between dynamic or armature driver? OH btw tested the zen nirvana today. I thought it fared better than e2 and e3. Some comments on this?
  9. thats funny.. maybe ur right. Comparing with my EX-71 i felt it has lesser bass. oh man im really confused which iem i should look for. think i will try out UE sf first, westone um1, er6i. seems like these earphones are more popular here.
  10. Thanks for the info. At least now im a bit more armed when i head to stereo electronics soon. thanks aaron xp, i tried my friends shure e2c, cost around 180-190? Didnt like it as it lacked bass. It's clear though.

hmmm... looks good and cheaper alternative. Hope it really delivers the music like that jay guy promised.
  12. Haha... but that time i tried my friends, shure e2c. Yes i agree the noise isolation is much better, however bass wise i feel it lost to sony. But clarity of cause its e2c. I must try the um1 everyone is talking about. But some simply recommend ck7 and they said it's good enough. ic... um1 is nt as heavy as EX71... if u wan heavy bass, sf5eb, sf5pro or um2 will b the one... Oh dear oh dear. Okie im really confused right now as a noob. Can someone really kindly enough to make a list like what IEM is good for what, like maybe um1 is the clarity etc... UE earphones are good?
  13. Haha... i wont. I got a 200-300 budget this time round. So im ready. Really dont mind paying if the earphones are worth it. Haha... but that time i tried my friends, shure e2c. Yes i agree the noise isolation is much better, however bass wise i feel it lost to sony. But clarity of cause its e2c. I must try the um1 everyone is talking about. But some simply recommend ck7 and they said it's good enough.
  14. hey thanks for the advice. Looks like i've got to test them for myself. Currently using sony's ex-71 neckstrap ones. Not too bad.
  15. Hi guys.. this is my very first thread here. Im starting to get more picky about my earphones nowadays. And i read alot of feedbacks from other forums about Westone Um-1. Is it really good? Comparing audio technica ck7? What about shure's? Sorry for being really noob.
